I play quite a bit and have been doing alright with around a 2.0 KDR as I am a decent shot. There's a player though (which due to forum rules I am not supposed to mention his name) who is is as far as I can tell invincible. He is equipped with a Scout suit and a high end SMG. Used to be you could pick off little cheapees like this somewhat easily from a distance. That apparently is not possible any more. During one instance in one match, the player ran directly at me and four of my allies in a wide open space. All of us fired, mostly assaults with rifles (I had GEK-38) and he came out with his shields barely damaged. To top that off, he killed me from distance (surely over 50 feet in-game) with his SMG. Could of swore SMGs had a shorter range then that. In any case, I thought I had a decent setup and a decent KDR but as I kept running into matches with this player, my KDR took a serious hit as I died time after time as he could quickly run anyone down and kill them. I even tried grenades a few times but they apparently evaporated as out of the several I threw, none ever caused any damage. Even tried a LAV, running him down or shooting at him, but when I did, he took out my gunner and took my LAV out with a single AV grenade. All I know is the person I mainly team up with does not want to even play DUST any more after playing several matches against this player. Afterall, what's the point in playing against an invincible player? |

If only your player skill truly matched your overinflated ego... I played against 3 STB players yesterday and the only thing going for them is they're grouped and they still know how to spawn kill (as I know first hand from getting shot in the back of the head). Didn't stop me from picking at least one off once I was able to spawn in without getting spawnkilled. The guy I am referring to plays with only one other player who primarily drives tanks but they don't stay grouped as they don't have to. |

I use the SMG/Scout combo and I can say it is a very strong combo. There are very few people who can go toe to toe with me on this. The scout dropsuit gives me speed and if I get behind you or even 3-4 of you, you are all dead. I use dual SMGs which means I got lots of ammo and I go for head shots. Its very hard to beat that combo while I move like a wabbit. Weaponry level 5 + SMG Proficiency gives you a lot of range and fire power.

Yes cooked grenades are very good versus scouts ... my favorite choice that and a nano hive nade combo :D....some people just need to learn how to adapt better. |

Seriously do not understand where the abundant amounts of ego come from players in this forum. Furthermore, I deal with other Scout/SMG players without much problem. I am specifically describing a certain player. I've never seen anyone else do the things he has. Truthfully, I think he either found a glitched loadout or (more likely) is a lagger/cheater. |

Is he using the Minddrive SMG? That one is supposedly OP; I haven't had a chance to test it out myself.
Most likely the guy is just using expensive gear. I was running around as a prototype SMG scout in the last build and was able to take on entire teams by myself if their gear wasn't up to snuff. The range is pretty decent after you max out the relevant skills, and when he's running faster, doing more damage, and recharging his shields faster than you, it's not much of contest even when you're a talented FPS player.
Just take heart in the fact that a handful of deaths will wipe out his entire profit for the match. |

Honestly, I cannot remember the exact name of the SMG he was using. By the long name I remember though, it's obviously a highend weapon though and could possibly be the Minddrive.
Quote:Just take heart in the fact that a handful of deaths will wipe out his entire profit for the match. I would if he died but I faced him in two different matches and that didn't ever happen. Just as fast as Scouts are, you would think they'd always lack armor and shields enough to be killed by any enemy assault or heavy loadout but that is not the case for this guy. Thanks for the civilized response also, Knarf. Seems you don't get to many of those here when posting questions or opinions. |
