Hello; and thank you in advance for your consideration for viewing my e-mail. First off I am very pleased the producers of DUST decided to make DUST for the PS3 and convert DUST into a FPS format, but this is also the problem. I play FPS's on the ps3 using the SHARPSHOOTER only. Ive played and completed the following games with the Sharpshooter : KZ3, Resistance3, MAG, SOCOM 4, and Resident evil . So I am very knowledgeable of the pros and cons of the sharpshooter. KZ3, and Resistance used a very basic 2 point calibration setup, while MAG and SOCOM 4 used a more detailed 4 point axis calibration . Which brings me to the point of this e-mail . While playing the closed Beta for DUST using the SHARPSHOOTER ,calibration was vague and basic, with no gesture , turn or pitch settings . there was also gross reticule wander out of zoom mode while trying to lock in on far away targets . The worst thing I witnessed was while in zoom mode was , I could barely move the reticule to lead targets into my line of fire . I understand the PS move is a fairly new preferrial for FPS play but implementing it into a game as detailed as DUST,more care and attention needs to be showed to the MOVE to insure its success and add that added level of FPS realness . note MAG and SOCOM 4 has great sharpshooter setting and calibration and was only a few patches away from perfection. |

I have yet to play this game with the sharpshooter but I did try it with the standard Move controller and also had some serious problems while trying to aim. When you go from standard view mode to zooming in, the crosshair currently changes location to point to where ever the center of the screen is vs where you actually had the crosshair pointing. Even worse while in zoom mode there is a huge deadzone and once you get out of the deadzone the screen moves way to fast to be of any use making it impossible to actually aim with a Move. This is such a glaring issue I just quit the game I was playing since I was of no use to my team. I did mess with the settings to see if there was anything that would help but I didn't find anything. |

Great email, here is mine :)
To whom it may concern,
The beta has been fun and I would like to first thank all of you at CCP for creating an innovative, fresh, and fun game for us all to play. I am attaching an image with what appears to be server-side coding that I received while launching a quick match from the player arena. This was last night, 8-22-2012, approximately between 10-11pm(CST). I also had the game lock up twice, once before the error and once afterwards, which the only way to recover was by manually pushing the ps3 power button to shut down the system.
I would also like to recommend some adjustments to the "move" controls. They are, for lack of better words, slow and non-responsive. The dead zones are incredibly to large, even after adjusting them down to the smallest levels. This affects turn speeds, which in the end, removes the true functionality of the controller and the accuracy it has in other titles. Also if you have the targeting reticule over an enemy and "scope-in" the scope zooms to the center of the screen instead of where the reticule is aligned. Are there plans to tighten up the deadzones and fix the zooming functions?
I would love to communicate with you guys in the future to help alleviate some of the issues I've been experiencing as Dust 514 has been on my radar since the first trailer back on 09. The idea is phenomenal!
Hope this reaches the appropriate people, happy gaming, and the best of luck to you and your company!

Having just tried this game, I have to say congratulations to CCP for producing the worst move implementation I've experienced in a shooter. The controls are really slow and unresponsive especially when looking down the sight. I was really looking forward to playing this game but now I'm bitterly disappointed. |
