Lets talk about powerful infantry weapons. I'll start us of with the HMG. It seems like nothing more than an SMG to many of us. However in a corridor, or tight confined spaces, their damage against large groups of players is the best. I've heard people moaning about the refactored damage against vehicles, but really, IMHO, HMG's are working as intended.
Then, countering that there is the shotgun. I laughed at this gun when hit detection was terrible. Now I regularly run a militia assault fit using one. Regularly 2 shot heavies, 1 shot everyone else. If I miss I have plenty more ammo. I would normally say this kinda thing is very op, but it is tragic at anything over 15 meters. It takes clever play to get close enough.
Then there is the SMG. The SMG damage increase makes it preferable to the assault rifle. It's chuffing great, slaughters everything at 25m or less (except shotty). I'm fairly sure the SMG is the second choice behind the "sensible" option of assault rifles. Makes sense? Not really sure... but I'd think about swapping the proficiency bonus and the operations bonus.

Mass Driver. Low damage, accuracy, basically everything. Suppression however, won't even let you aim down sights for a second. A useful Mass user in a squad opens up major weakpoints. Scrambler Pistols. My personal favourite weapon, insane damage and ROF, however take tremendous amount of skill to get right and aim good. I basically only go for headshots, and if I miss twice, I'm usually dead in CQC. |

What shot gun are you using? The militia SG needs (on the spreadsheet) 21 direct hits to kill the squigy organic bit in the middle of a militia heavy suit, 20 hits to get through the shield and armour & 1 hit for the body.

Militia currently. Pre char wipe the lvl 4 breach shotgun. Are you including 12% weaponry skill? (I didn't know it fired 20 projectiles) |

No, just basic damage as stated on the marketplace 35Hp per shot. It comes with 32 charges but only holds 6 in the weapon so you do need to reload 4 time to get to twenty hits. |

Damage listed on the SG is for each and every one of the 'bits' you see when you fire. I'd need to count them but an off hand guess is about 15 or so bits with some of them striking the head for extra damage. |
