I just recently discovered the remote armor repair module, and I must say that I am actually super delighted (given my background in Team Fortress 2, where I primarily play a medic). The joy of effectively restoring the armor of 3 teammates after a 4 vs 5 skirmish (me being in the 4 team), not to mention sustaining them in the middle of the firefight (while carefully putting myself behind my squad mate, shielding me from assault rifle fire, most exhilirating.
Mind you that I find it still a little challanging to maintain the pointing to a general direction. I could be equivocated, but I think I lose track of the healing whenever my healing target is outside my field of vision direction, cutting off the healing link. In Team Fortress 2, I do appreciate that I can spin in circles, and the healing link will not break.
Other than that, I am liking the healing mechanics so far, keep up the good work CCP on helping us healers!

I've never played Team Fortress 2, but I also agree that the healing is well done. You can quickly fix a teammate, but the repair rate isn't so high that they can stay alive under concentrated fire (although I use the militia tool, so that may limit the rep speed)
The tool does actually have a 360 degree radius now, but it has a fairly short range. |

This is correct - you should be able to look in any direction once you have locked on with the repair tool.
As for the repair speed, once you get into the regular repair tools you can get the triage versions that have a higher dropsuit repair rate (but less for vehicles and installatons). Not to mention some of the other variants (such as the flux - bonus range!) as well as the regular old repair tool that uses only 2 PG (instead of the 10 the militia one uses). |

among other things I wish there were modules to increase my healing and range when using a remote repair tool, my thoughts are listed here:

I have not played as a medic in any class but I have been revived on several occasions and I am always thankful.
However, on more than one occasion I have been down and bleeding out and my triage wielding teammate has tried to come to the rescue but for some reason cannot locate my body. I can see them looking around for me and when we are in voice communication I tell them "I am right in front of you", but yet they still cannot see me.
So it seems that there is still some inconsistency in the full function of triage that needs to addressed. I hope the devs are able to do so. Having functional triage in the game has improved the gameplay tremendously :) |

The problem is that occasionally the revive point isn't at the body, so the Triage unit needs to be a little bit away from the corpse to actually be able to revive them |

from memory the all but one RAR's have a range of 15 metres... There is one (tier3? t4?) that has a range of 20 metres. |

I'm starting to play as Logistics and am probably going to specialise in it, but my main problem is that with the injector you need to find where the guy died, and not where his body is, this is a huge pain in the ass if the guy was hit by something that dragged or flung his body like a grenade or LAV running him over, as you have to run past it and find where he died and stab there, as the body itself, for me at least, won't provide the interaction unless the guy died there. So they need to work on that.
I had an experience yesterday where a team mate was killed in front of me by an explosion, his body was on the ground by the icon was up on the objective (he was behind it when he went boom) and I could not reach it. I tried looking over the body but it didn't work, so the guy bled out. |

Double checked, and you were all right, I can spin in circles, and the healing chain won't break. Oh goody!
But yeah, the main cause was the simple, player was out of range. Not so goody (But fair enough).
As it is, I agree with Gilbatron, there aren't any modules that boost the healing. But there is a great amount of potential in matter of skills and modules that can be applied (repair range, repair rate, separate armor/shield or omni repariers, etc.), and I do hope CCP implemenets them in the future. |
