Squads should have the option to be opened publicly so people can randomly join them or be filled at the beginning of each match if there is extra room.

If a squad is not locked and has open slots you can do this already.

Only need UVT to use voice outside of squads and battles. You should be able to use text chat no problem in the channel. Once your in a squad the voice should work even without the UVT outside of battle.

so because not many people look at local and because we probably dont share the same one, I have created an ingame channel for people to find and form squads.

Thanks - and there should be an mechanic in game to join a random squad. For example, you hit a button and it pairs you with others who also hit that button. What do you all think?

Lorttomaaria-u don't need phones with mic. Most mics come in the form of a Bluetooth headset which has one speaker so u can hear the voice chat over the Bluetooth and then game sounds and music from TV. However if u want voices in headphones then the easiest solution is to buy a pair of headphones with built in mic (I hear the turtlebeach ones r good just be careful though one is surroundsound and I don't know if it works in surround with dust). Or if u r good at Jerry rigging things like me find a way to turn ur Bluetooth into lapel mic (I used a big paper clip) and look in ur ps3 settings to set voice chat output to ur audio output rather than the Bluetooth.
