I have not been able to voice chat with anyone since the update. I tried holding the left D-Pad button, but to no avail. Also, I barely hear anyone speaking on the game either.

If your lonely and it's past 12 AM you can always talk to me sugar. Add me in game *wink*
Anyways.....works fine for me. |

Something I've noticed is that it defaults to your squad comm only. You have to choose the team chat and activate voice. I have to do it every game or if no one is on mics in my squad its all quite. But as soon as you active team chat there everyody is.
I posted a thread earlier but no else seems to have this problem I guess. It would be nice to have it able to default to team chat.

Yes in the war barge or in game hit select to bring up the comm menu.
Then there are two or three icons the bottom one is squad the next one up is team speak
Highlight it and press x then it will ask you if you want to activate. Hit yes
I have to do it every match for some reason to be able to hear everyone
That is if you have everything else set up right. Need to go to options on the start menu and scroll down to controls and turn voice chat on.
Also the same menu you found the team speak you will see an icon that says push to talk turn that to off. |

^ This is a big part of the answer to the OP's problem - every match you have to hit the communication button, select 'Team', hit 'X', and select 'Activate Voice'
If you do this every match you might not be quite so lonely ;)

PTT: Disabled
Team Chat: Enabled
The defaults? WTF thought:
Voice Chat: disabled
PTT: enabled
Squad Chat: Enabled
Was the best way to go? Seriously?

Its the left d pad button dude, not the right. Check voice chat is turned on in options. Check the icon next to your name in the war room...if the icon is red push to talk is turned on, if its green push to talk is turned off and hands free is on.
Or you can check in your MQ, get the chat bar up and look at the very top, the option to turn push to talk on and off is up there too |
