so just finished a skirmish fight , got my sp, my isk and my loot. so i press square, and get stuck at the controller loading screen. wait a good few mins and nothing. turn off ps3 but it will not respond to commands. when joining fight there was some weird artifacts ( graphics glitching, grey/creame color screen) then the map popped up all funny looking to a while to resolve resolution.
its this time i had to unplug ps3 from wall again. NO HDD light illuminated . turn back on my PS3 and am greeted with a message " corrupted file system" and my first two words ****ing DUST514. then a few more lines of words like die in a fire, stupid noobs, rawr rant rage emo fit emorage , etc etc.
WHY CCP, why is dust causing these problems this is the third time it has happened to me. the first two times i let it go, but now its becoming a pain and worry each time you get that stupid stuck controller loading screen. is this because the PS3 just aint cut for dust or something client wise. even still please find the problem and fix it |

If this is happening to you a lot, I recommend taking a break from the beta. It doesn't sound like it will end well for your ps3. At least take a break until the code is ironed out. |

DUST corrupted my file system too, it had to rebuild itself. It was not fun. |

nope if it means my PS3 meating the data gods so be it. this sounds like a problem and a public wide one to. something is amiss. Sony and CCP need to have a chat about this.
if my PS3 dies its for a good cause and for the better of dusters worldwide. (btw Sony say hai to the folks dont be shy we know you watch us, oh i would like new PS3 if mine does die testing dust 514).
the DUMB part on sonys behalf, no error info saying what is corrupted, if we knew this CCP could start looking code wise at dust see if the two are matched in someway. |

When you unplug your ps3 without it shutting down completely is why you receive this message |

Have you submited a bug report on this, or sent an email to [email protected] with all the details, so the problem can be fixed?
Otherwise you are providing no assistance. |

if we had a logging tool i would have something to send CCP. reason i made this post was to find out if others have had this problem and mirror mine. then and only then once i had others with the same problem happening post a bug report. and at the same time link to this post so ccp could gauge an overall veiw of the problem in hand and how many it affected.
instead of having to read 100 posts all saying my hdd was corrupted |

Happens to me too and I only play dust one hour every other fay, because of it and somehow still happens thanks to the never ending victory and defeat screen. |

My PS3 was "born" in 2007 and I have no issues like you are describing. |

I did submit a report. I am on my 2nd hard drive. If I am not mistaken a corrupted HDD is not fixable. The error will occur again as soon as data reaches the bad segment of your drive. Not expecting a check from Sony or CCP neither...just life. |

A data point for CCP to debug with: I've got the older PS3 with PS2 compatibility and the most I have to do is mash the PS button and quit the game to renter. |

Even on the loading screen you should be able to push the PS button to quit out of game. Try tat before you pull the plug. Also try holding down the power button for a softer boot |

It says your hard drive is corrupted, but it's probably not. When that screen pops up when you turn it back on, press O to cancel it. |

I will disagree with the above post, let the system run the software check.
There is a way to check your HDD, you have to remove it from the ps3 and hook it up to your PC (either in a HDD enclosure or your tower), then go find the drive's manufacturer HDD tools by searching their help and support section. This will tell you about any bad sectors and the overall operability/ health of the drive. My HDD has firmware updates so I do it quite regularly, so far only 1 game has given my Hybrid SSD trouble other than freezing (which is a ps3 problem); the cut scene audio for ArmCore5 would not work after stopping play and turning off the ps3, the game would require a fresh install.
It depends on your ps3 but most likely it is a Toshiba. (they are the stock drives in my 60gb phat and 120gb slim)
Another thing to consider is running some of the safe mode options of the ps3. Go over to the ps3 forums and look up the safe mode as they recommend some specific steps to take to solve a problem. Some of the options can also erase all your data so make a back up beforehand.
