I seem to be liking speed a lot. Something about running up to the objective or just getting plain close to my enemies and ripping them to shreds... I LOVE. Especially when I have a disadvantage. Strafing and jumping like a maniac. Only way to survive with a scout class.
So I found out that the Scout class is my preferred dropsuit and with that, I carry a light handed weapon. Preferably the SMG and unleash it upon my enemies. I always carry with me my Nano tool just in case a fallen comrade is down near me. However, don't rely on me to rez u if there's many reds around you.
All in all, the scout is definitely my poison in this game while running and gunning CQC towards the objective. It's fun.
Whats yours?
EDIT: been feeling the shotty! My K/D seems to be getting up there with it more than the smg. And there is nothing like 1 SHOT kill at close range ;) |

I've been juggling a logistics support fitting and a sniper/smg fitting as well. I have to agree with you on strafing left and right, teasing people that can't lead their target. I've been having a lot of fun doing that, but I've been skilling up for the logistics fit once my friends/coorp members start grouping up with me. Supplying, heaving, reviving and support/covering fire has been my preferred playstyle when I have people I can count on. |

Type 2 scout with Shotgun, Nanite Injector and Remote Repair. Slap an armor plate and armor rep in the lows, a shield extender in the high, and I'm like a little speedy ball of healing deathness |

I'm also a Scout (mostly, I run a little of everything), but I prefer the Repair Tool rather than a Nano Injector. I keep people on their feet instead of getting them back up later.
Usually Swarm/SMG, or Shotgun.
I have a couple of Uplink builds (Free Hugs! And by "hugs" I mean "spawn points")
Surprisingly, I'm getting more use from Uplinks in Ambush than Skirmish, at least so far... |

Heavy with a hmg, nothing like dropping of a cliff behind a group and killing them before they can even turn around. Smg and shotguns are my only problems in that suit. So I stay at a medium range and I can really do some good. |

Actually I was debating to go for a repair tool rather than using the Nano Tool. I would think I would repair more than revive.....Gonna give that a try tomorrow ;D YEAH
Dust Fiend: Thx for letting us know. Going to skill my scout suit to lvl 2 and try the rep and nano tool combo. Rip enemies apart first. Then rep/revive lol. |

I can dig that, and you're right, if you're rocking SLs then you need Hives.
I just love being able to hang back with my allies, keep them going, and just hulk out on anyone stupid enough to close the distance with us |

You also have to choose one or the other when you're running a free Scout build (Militia or Dragonfly). |

Just to bring it to the attention of all you Scouts... when you jump around and strafe, it isn't your skill that makes you dogde bullets, it's the broken system that makes it impossible to get a bullet on you because of hit detection. On the other hand, continue on, becuase my new Shotgun has such a hig bullet spread that it will hit you no matter where you are in my FOV. |

And strafing isn't much harder, unless the person is doing it WELL. |

I roll Logibro. On my main build, I use a Breach AR along with Nanohives, a Nanite Injector, and a Repair tool. On my Militia build I use the Militia AR, a Nanite Injector, and a Repair Tool.
I'm probably going to spec into Scout suits as well at some point so that I can get to capture points quickly at the start of the match.

It's not hit detection for kitten's sake. You have to lead your shots, which is difficult with Scouts because they're twitchy little bastards. The problem is bullet speed being too low, not hit detection. |

Going straight up pilot suit assuming they have a Good bonus or purpose to them. I like the new dropshipcontrols to the extent that I will drop them in whenever I have the money availible
Honestly can't wait til I can remap controls though |

at this point hit detection issues are not much of a problem. imo it is more of an excuse for not being able to track your target. happens to me too, but i don't blame it on hit detection. hit detection is fine. |

Hit detection is MOSTLY fine.
I had a match where it was AWFUL a little while ago.
Shotgun to a Heavy, from behind, while he's standing still and so am I... nothing. Not a scratch. I unloaded a full clip before my last round finally tore his shields apart and scratched the armour. He turned around while I was reloading, and almost got to kill me before a teammate showed up and killed him with an AR from about mid-range. |

I'm setting up for Assault Dropsuits, making AR's and that swank SMG that came with my Merc Pack. The SMG has surprised me on how great it is! I can run up on a heavy and in the time it takes him to reload, put 2 clips in em and they go DOWN.
Building the skills now to armor up and whatnot, like the rest of us (side note: I like the new SP/ISK gains, keeps ya playin dont it?)
I am also training up a sniper for when the map/situation calls for one. I'm not GREAT at it, been 'run-n-gun' my whole FPS life, but I think it will be a crucial role in 0.0 for controlling defense points and objectives.
I would really to see more SP for getting kills within a curtain range of objectives, but a Team Win means more to me than K/D ANY DAY! |

Assault AR/SR + SMG for everyday/counter-sniper. Speedy hacker with SMG and uplinks for fast openings (dragonfly + toxin). Sometimes when there are no more open points to take and no supply depos to re-equip I take my runner to party with enemy campers and what-not. Killing camping scout and his assault bodyguard without them knowing what happened -- priceless.
Also being rezzed while front-line assaulting -- second best feeling in the world. Thanks to all those hard working medics out there, keep those nanites coming. Logi is my second pick after maxing Assault. |
