Tonight marks the end of my third weekend with DUST 514 and I have seen a wide spectrum of responses and personalities among the Beta testers. From unproductive whiners (who may have valid points, but never say anything in a way that CCP could actually use to improve the game), to true believers (Only post praises, but without bug or fix feedback they end up just as useless as the whiners), and a slew of posters in the middle who generally want to see the game improve and try to voice their concerns and make sure CCP hears them.
This is to be expected, but the problems arrive when people who have legitimate complaints, but voice them poorly, are at risk of looking as trolls or flamers. Inversely, people who make complaints, but do so too softly, may come across as just another CCP super fan and have their feedback be unheeded. DUST players have been among the most passionate, both for and against DUST, I have ever seen in an online community. But that does not detract from the fact that we are here to Beta test.
If you think the game sucks, fine. You can think that, but if you are going to leave do so AFTER telling CCP in detail (not hyperbole) what was wrong, where it happened, and why you are leaving. You may not care, but us sticking with it do care; A lot. If you love the game to death, awesome; you are free to say so. But for the sake of all of us, and your future enjoyment, try to find problems, bugs, issues, and complaints that you can give to CCP in order to make a better DUST. Tomorrow marks the culmination of PrecursorGÇÖs deployment and together, we can make sure to shape DUST into what it needs to become.

agreed, most FPS have a life of 1 to 2 years, if this game has any chance of retaining numbers, it must be good enough to engage a wide spectrum of people for a long spectrum of time. Our feedback is needed for that. |

Thank you OP I've been saying this all along but most never seem to get it.
You forgot about the ones who love the glitches they find that help them over inflate their precious KDR then troll and degrade anyone who tries to report that glitch or problem on the forums in fear it would take away their exploit.
From what I've seen on here is that a lot of the players want a glitchy game where they can exploit bad programming for their own benefit instead of a well balanced game. But hey I guess that is what the norm is these days with other shooters. So why change it? Who wants a good fair game when you can cheat to an easy win? The answer is most people young and old, that is the sad reality of human nature. If you're not good enough, cheat then brag about it like some little kid. You just gotta love the pathetic human condition.

No need for name calling. You can get your point across in a more civil manner. Wait who am I kidding you're the norm on here, carry on like the rest. |

Wow you're very generous, I was thinking most FPS have a 6 month life spam, only the most liked ones have around 2 years.
Notice I didn't say good ones, because that is an opinion. My opinion is the good ones never survive just the fast action, no brain, lots of exploits and glitches, no skill ones made for the ADHD kids survive. |

The only thing that most gamers want in a fps is easy to hit and kill fast. |

I think most games see their highest numbers in the first 3 months and after 6 months, the numbers start to drop and by 2 years it is just about zero. |
