I've discovered that Sanmatar is the home region of the Ammatar and means 'true home'...
how this fits with the Kelkoons being Minmatar, I'm not sure,..
unless we're anti-ammatar terrorists?

Villore is the Gallente system where their military command lives, their HQ is formed from a single giant artificial diamond sunk into the earth. (from one of the eve chronicles if my memory is correct), with a crystal city built above it (typical Gallente decadence).
Though most of these corps seem to have just been plucked out of thin air, might have to search the wiki to see if any new fiction appears for them. |

I think Ammatar is the first planet the minmatar were on before they stopped calling themselves the matar |

No.... The Ammatar race have a completely different backstory, one that involves the ultimate betrayal a Minmatar faction could partake in, in order to protect something that could not be allowed to be lost. |

I checked the EVElopedia, and it appears our current corporations are brand new. I would imagine this would coincide with the newness of the technology we use. |
