Stop driving them. That's what I did. They only work in a straight line because the right analog stick controls the camera instead of what it should control, the steering. I still don't understand why you need a camera control to drive a car. The camera should always be behind the car.
Have you ever tried driving a car at high speed while looking over shoulder? No, why would you? There is litterally no need for camera control while driving. It doesn't help you at all, infact all it does is make you drive into walls. The tank controls are fine because it's natural for the right stick to adjust the turret, in the LAV the driver does not have a turret and therefore doesn't need to adjust the camera because all they need to do is look infront of them and steer properly and easily. Left stick = go, stop. Right stick = steer left, right. I won't get into another LAV unless I can map the controls because how they are now is ridiculous. |

Never played Halo. I know that sounds stupid but I have never owned an Xbox. Looks like an awesome game and I would also assume (as I have watched Red vs Blue and know what a warthog is), that to drive a warthog you accelerate with the left stick and steer with the right? |

Aye. Basically, you have a little pointer in the middle of your screen, and it only moves when you move the stick. When you tilt forward on the left stick, the 'hog moves in the direction the camera is facing. Even if you hit something and do a full 180, you'll straighten out if you just keep holding forward. It's simplicity itself, and it works very well for fast, all-terrain vehicles like this as you don't have to work as hard to compensate for every little bump.
What you described makes perfect sense. I think the only person that needs to move a camera is the gunner. Like you said: "simplicity itself". Kind of a no brainer really. |

That said it needs tweaking. Its far to easy to go full 180 when trying to take a turn.
So when you drive a car you use one hand to steer and simultaneously accelerate? You must get in a lot of accidents. |
