So I recently just started playing the new build and what can I say, it's amazing! (Only my opinion of course).
One of my favorite things about the new build is the new maps and the improved graphics. They're everything I've ever wanted from Dust, large and simply stunning. The first time I played I must've sat looking around the views of the maps for atleast a minute (I actually got killed one time sightseeing haha ). The addition of more buildings and new lanscaping features are great, It felt good to play on a grassy map or an ice touched map for the first time.
The different "moods" for each map are a great touch I think, it gives you something different to play against every time. An example was just earlier I had started a match and got put on this map that was a straight dusty red and had a red tint everywhere you look. I had problems with the red tint but I liked the challenge that the map posed to me as it made me realize that having combat on another planet would always be different and could be unpredictable at times.
The size of the new maps impresses me greatly, I had thought the skirmish maps from the pre-e3 build were huge and then when I saw the size of the newer skirmish map I was awestruck. The new skirmish version is really fun too, but I need to play more of that before I give my final feedback.
In conclusion, I am very impressed with the current maps and I can't wait to see what CCP still has in store. It's looking grea so far! |

Do you have to also fight against a planets conditions? Because that to me would be a brilliant thing for a game like dust :) Can't wait to see how its progressed |

It's an excellent step in the right direction, that's for sure. I haven't played a single game of skirmish all weekend, just queuing up instant battle after instant battle, and the constant cycling of maps has really helped to keep everything fresh and fun.
+1 CCP, +1 indeed |

In the final game I hope so! I mean, it may not be possible at release but I hope that somewhere down the road it will be a possibility that maps may effect how you play and what gear you use.
I've also heard of maps like gas giants which I think would be another interesting way to play. |

the new map looks cool but it has 2 major flaws:
1.its rediculusly focused on snipers
2.its called artilery outpost which infers it would have a large gun but it doesn't |

1. Not every map can be focused on all attack methods, you are always going to have to adapt to battle and I like the unpredictability of the map. Think of it, in the final build we are going to be playing on hundreds of planets, hundreds of maps, you really don't know what you're going to get. (Haha forest gump moment there). I see your concern but you really are just going to have to find a way to counter the sniping in the end.
2. Probably just a bug or an unimplemented feature. |

Do you think when a player in EVE builds an outpost that it's layout is already designed by CCP for Dust or is the outpost's layout made by the EVE player. I am pretty sure in EVE you can buy things to expand your stations and outposts but does the player or CCP choose the placement of the modules? There could be some crazy outposts in the future. |

I don't know if Outposts are going to be featured in Dust, I remember hearing something about it last month but I'm not quite sure. I for one like the idea of boarding an EVE outpost and the featuring of outposts in Dust but I don't know if it will be implemented. I'd ask an EVE player these questions. |
