I really want the option to have different types of ammo for weapons to further customize our mercs. heres a few ideas of what i'm thinking.
AV - higher damage versus vehicles/heavies but less capacity and RoF shock - high damage versus shield, lower damage versus health plasma - low RoF/capacity but explodes for high damage on impact (sniper only) needle - low damage but high capacity and RoF shield bypass - very limited ammo cap/reserves but can bypass ship/personal shields flechete -increased range and decreased spread (shotguns only)
anyone else want some more options? |

I'd think ammo variants like in EVE would be the best. Some affect range, some do more versus shields, some do more versus armor. Then there's "advanced" ammos that can affect things like your signature radius or your speed. |

I woupd rathrr ammo types that effect range, damage and mag size and each type of ammo favors something like spraying concentrated fire range cqc ect. Diffrent types of ammo that are designed for a kill method rather than a damage type |

Different weapon designs natively use only select damage types, Lasers from memory being the most limited (being limited to a balance of EN and Therm)
Each of the damage types affects shields and/or armor.
Specific ammo types deal a mixture of (generally) two damage types, making ammo choice (for a given weapon type) a build specific choice usually.

Yes, good idea OP. Especially since all the flavor text says all you have to do to change the ammo type a weapon fires is to change the barrel. |
