Whereas before restocking used to bring an entire fitting up to a certain number, now it seems to just buy x amount of everything which is much less useful as we now have to check the stock levels of every item anyway. |

The new mechanics are meant to solve the issue where you restock to X, use another suit with some of the same modules, rendering the previous one prone to becoming invalid beforing using it X times.
This way, if you restock to X, you'll be able to use that suit X more times, no matter what. |

I don't think it was intended. I much rather preferred the old way as it made complete sense.
For example, I already had 50 shield extenders, 50 shield rechargers, and now 1 assault rifle. Previously, hitting restock to 20 would only have me buy 20 assault rifles. Now, it buys everything, so I end up with +70 of stuff I don't need.
The solution is to press restock on the items you know are low, but this of course means you can forget something. Plus, it's extremely tedious.
I feel this whole thing is a bug. There's a counter at the top right in the fitting window. Before, the counter properly showed how many times you can use this fitting before something has to be restocked. Now, it always says 1. |

If money were no object then that would be great, however since the last patch I'm finding it pretty meaningless.
CCP should have included it as another option or at least made it a setting rather than "we're changing it, this is how it works now". But as mentioned above it's probably a bug. |

Honestly, smile, look graitful and don't complain. In eve we have to buy each module seperately (by that I mean we can buy x of y but not x of everything) and eve ships generally have a lot more slots to fill. You don't want them to take this useful toy away all together ^^ |

Additionally, it seems to like to buy stuff that never runs out. An example of this being my current sniper setup, it uses some militia parts. So, when I try to restock, it seems that it is trying to buy the militia items as well, even though they are not consumed when you die. |

Unfortunately you can't please everyone. Unless they decide to add an option I have a feeling it will stay the way it is. Honestly seems to me that more people prefer it the way it is since it means you're not messing up your other fits. |

Honestly seems to me that more people prefer it the way it is since it means you're not messing up your other fits. My fits are messed up all the time because of salvage, but I can restock other items in a fit. The main problem with it is that you can restock any item independently, but you cannot restock dropsuits independently (as it means a restock of the whole fit) meaning that, especially when receiving relevant salvage, you'll have to flick over to the market just to buy dropsuits regularly. |
