I haven't gotten to play much with the LAV, but I've been the gunner a couple of times in Precursor 1.0 and been tasked with trying to kill dudes with the, I don't know what it's called, but it's the non-rapid fire weapon. I am familiar with this because presumably it is the same one on the Dropship, but for whatever reason, the rounds don't seem to explode or kill people.
Am I supposed to hit people directly? That seems, unlikely, but I can shoot into a hill that someone is standing next to or near their feet and nothing, ya know, blows up or dies.
Is the explosion animation not playing? I don't know what's going on. It's fine if this is meant to be for vehicles, but still, the lack of animation makes me think there's something else. |

There are two non-rapid fire weapons: The Missile Launcher and The Railgun. If you were using the missile launcher, then yes, the game was not playing the explosion animation. If you were using the railgun, then you have to hit people directly, it has minimal splash damage. |

If you are talking about the missile launcher then one of the problems could be that your skill isn't high enough to use it and the missiles are flying off in a different direction. Another problem could be that most of the time you get splash damage that it usually takes more than one shot to kill some one. Couple that with the aforementioned problem you would have a hard time getting a kill if the shots are not hitting around the person you are trying to kill. |

Missiles firing randomly isn't about skill, movement causes MASSIVE changes in firing direction, you pretty much have ZERO chance of hitting while turning, and not much better while moving in a straight line unless you're firing directly ahead or behind. |
