I searched the forums and couldn't find anything, but sorry if duplicate request.
Some matches I forego high point accrual to instead defend objectives. I know I could easily get more ISK/SP by running around capturing points and killing, but I stick around to defend some key areas. It would be great to see a small point bonus for killing enemies/vehicles within a certain proximity of a point my team already controls. Something like 20% seems fair, an extra 10 points on infantry and 20 points on vehicle kills. Assists would net an extra 5 points.

I agree, it's not terribly hard to program, bonus points for getting somebody when they're hacking. |

I'd argue about the Squad-Defend command, but let's face it: how many people REALLY know how to do squad leader commands, or that they even exist? |

True, though I expect to see more with launch corps. I was thinking this could be a system only enacted when there is no standing squad order, but not as good as the squad bonus so it's still better to use teamwork. Sometimes the squad leader's busy sending orders elsewhere though, it'd be nice to get a benefit for being the guy left behind to hold down the fort. |

I actually just had a match like this where I was the only one paying attention to one of our objectives for a while and my constant respawning on it was pretty much the only thing that stopped the other team from taking it long enough for backup to come. I was wondering how to implement bonuses for this behavior as well, and although the location-based approach is part of it, there's also the issue of initiative.
If I storm an objective with a bunch of squad/teammates and happen to reach the objective first, should I be rewarded with the same amount of points as if I manage to slip in by myself? Or if I'm the only thing standing between an objective and a bunch of guys trying to take over it, is that more of an achievement than just camping on one with a bunch of team members? Those aren't rhetorical questions -- I'm honestly asking, because it brings up the question of to what degree we want to encourage lone-wolfing and teamwork.
Sometimes it feels a little thankless risking your hide while the rest of your team is seemingly running around with their heads cut off, but then again if everyone tried to go it alone to get these bonuses, team cohesion would quickly fall apart. So, what do you guys think? |

This is why I feel the bonus should be less than squad order bonuses. So, in the event someone ends up soloing a point like a boss, they are recognized, but not to the extent that players start purposely ignoring squad orders for points. |
