I am Lieutenant Colonel Gutsche of the 242nd Shock Battalion, we are a Milsim team based off the US Marine Corps. What is Milsim? Well Milsim is a Military Simulation environment with all the customs and courtesies of the Military Organization the unit is simulating. In this case it is the US Marine Corps, we have the organization of a USMC Battalion, with a Rifle Company, Armor detachment, and Air Squadron for Support, we also have the Current Ranks of the Marine Corps, and made our Promotion System close to the real Corps as possible within reason, cause it would take years otherwise to get to some ranks. Our unit does follow the Marine Corps core values of:
Honor
Honor guides Marines to exemplify the ultimate in ethical and moral behavior; to never lie cheat or steal; to abide by an uncompromising code of integrity; respect human dignity; and respect others. The quality of maturity, dedication, trust and dependability commit Marines to act responsibly; to be accountable for their actions; to fulfill their obligations; and to hold others accountable for their actions.
Courage
Courage is the mental, moral and physical strength ingrained in Marines. It carries them through the challenges of combat and helps them overcome fear. It is the inner strength that enables a Marine to do what is right; to adhere to a higher standard of personal conduct; and to make tough decisions under stress and pressure.
Commitment
Commitment is the spirit of determination and dedication found in Marines. It leads to the highest order of discipline for individuals and units. It is the ingredient that enables 24-hour a day dedication to Corps and country. It inspires the unrelenting determination to achieve a standard of excellence in every endeavor.
We have the MOS' of the Marine Corps as well, as have awards giving to marines in the line of duty as well
If you think you have the guts and skill to join us fill out an Application on our website

We are more like a Milsim. Just basing a couple things off the structure of the halo stuff if anything. Though, whether we played halo, mag, cod, or mw, we are ex-Eve players so we are looking forward to Dust514.
Though here is the 242nd Shock Battalion recruitment information. Requirements are on the site. There will be changes as for when CCP gives out new info and updates to DUST.
Boot Camp: Players that are new to the DUST/EVE setting and that join our corps will be given a crash course to how the game works. Training sessions will host players with varied skills sets to show new players what they can get with higher skills.
Milsim: This corp is a Milsim to those that like doing military stuff.
Join a squad: In the 242nd, players will be able to get into squads which are equal to fire teams. Each member in a fireteam has a job, skill set, or special talent that benefits to the unit as a whole. Every fireteam will have a team leader thatGÇÖll lead its unit into battle.
Ranks/Positions: There will be a rank system in the 242nd which will act like the corps positions, so those that would like a high position will have to earn it. Each rank will have its own benefits. You can see the ranks and unit roster on the corp website. However, having lots of skills doesnGÇÖt mean a higher rank. Most members in the corp will be of higher ranks with a varied skill set.
Corporate Armaments: The 242nd will have a supply of armaments for all members. However, there is no reimbursement for personal loss of vehicles, weapons, DS, ect. Members that wish to stock the corps armament hanger is encouraged to do so. New players will receive a small set of skill books to help them out; though higher skills will be given out to player requests.
Rank Structure: This is the rank structure for the 242nd which cannot be displayed do to the limit of characters. As of now the LtCol and Major positions are already filled and will be the CEO and Co-CEO positions for the Corp. There will nothing hire that the two listed here.
Dust In-game Channel: The in-game channel for Dust is 242nd Shock Battalion.
More sections will be added when information is made available by CCP. |

Rank Structure: This is the rank structure for the 242nd is as seen here, with a brief description of each rank
Officer Corps:
Lieutenant Colonel- The Lieutenant Colonel commands the entire Battalion, and is also referred to as the Commanding Officer, or CO, and does not lead a company, but is the highest rank in the Battalion HQ.
Major- The Major is usually the Executive Officer of the Battalion, but can be the Commanding Officer in absence of a Lieutenant Colonel.
Captain- The Captain commands a Company, and is also referred to as the Company's Commanding Officer (CO). He does not lead a platoon, but is the highest rank in the Company HQ.
1st Lieutenant- Usually the Executive Officer (XO) of the company, the First Lieutenant is second in command and executes orders from the Captain, but can be the Commanding Officer in absence of a Captain, or can lead a platoon if necessary.
2nd Lieutenant- The entry-level Officer rank, who typically leads a platoon under the Company HQ's command.
Warrant Officer Corps:
Chief Warrant Officer 5- Commander of our Induction Corps.
Chief Warrant Officer 4- Special Ranks giving to command the Instructors and head our recruitment divisions and our Boot Camp Drill Sergeants.
Chief Warrant Officer 3- Special Ranks giving to command the Instructors and head our recruitment divisions and our Boot Camp Drill Sergeants.
Chief Warrant Officer 2- Special Ranks giving to command the Instructors and head our recruitment divisions and our Boot Camp Drill Sergeants.
Warrant Officer- Special Ranks giving to command the Instructors and head our recruitment divisions and our Boot Camp Drill Sergeants.
Enlisted Soldiers:
Sergeant Major- Typically found only once in a battalion, and assists in the Battalion HQ. Marine Corps sergeants major serve as the senior enlisted marine in the Corps' units of battalion, squadron or higher echelon, as the unit commander's senior enlisted advisor and to handle matters of discipline and morale among the enlisted marines.
Master Gunnery Sergeant- One of the major differences between the two E-9 ranks is that Master Gunnery Sergeants retain their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), while Sergeants Major are given a new MOS to reflect their general command focus. This reinforces the Master Gunnery Sergeant's role as a provider of military leadership, technical acumen, and mastery of their MOS.
*Master Gunnery Sergeants are sometimes referred to by the nickname "Master Guns" or "Master Gunny". These nicknames are unacceptable in formal or ceremonial situations, and, at the rank holder's discretion, may also be unacceptable for use by lower-ranking Marines.*
First Sergeant- A key advisor to the Commander, the First Sergeant is often the most respected member of the company, and known as the "Company Boss." Helps run the company by dispatching leadership training and has much experience under his belt.
Master Sergeant- In the U.S. Marine Corps, master sergeants provide technical leadership as occupational specialists at the E-8 level
*In the Marine Corps, master sergeants may be referred to by the nickname of "top." This usage is an informal one, however, and would not be used in an official or formal setting. Use of this nickname by Marines of subordinate rank is at the rank holder's discretion.*
Gunnery Sergeant- Gunnery Sergeant is a seasoned leader who typically serves as platoon sergeant, and can hold a Company HQ position. The key advisor to the platoon leader.
*Gunnery Sergeants are commonly referred to by the informal abbreviation "gunny". This nickname, which is usually regarded as a title of both esteem and camaraderie, is generally acceptable for use in all but formal and ceremonial situations. Use of the term by lower-ranking personnel, however, remains at the Gunnery Sergeant's discretion.*
Staff Sergeant- A Staff Sergeant has many of the same responsibilities as a Sergeant, but has even more exceptional leadership skills which come natural to him. Often has sergeants working under him and can lead a large squad or platoon.
Sergeant- A Sergeant is a proven Corporal who is placed in charge of a squad which consists of three fireteams.and is in charge of his squad's discipline, appearance, and organization. Sergeants call practices and drills for their squad when necessary.
Corporal- The entry-level NCO rank, a corporal is a PFC who has proven himself in Leadership training and is capable of leading other soldiers. A Corporal can also lead squads if necessary, but acts as a team leader. Marine corporals generally serve as "fire-team leaders," commanding a 4-man team or unit of similar size.
Lance Corporal- This rank is awarded to PFCs who have become valuable to the Squad Leaders. They assist in drills, showing the Privates the ropes, and are next in line for leadership positions.
Private First Class- In the 242nd, the rank of private first class is the second lowest, just under Lance Corporal and just above Private. Enlistees that complete 242nd boot camp and made top of their class will graduate 242nd boot camp with the rank of PFC.
Private- Once cadets graduate Boot Camp training, they become members of the 242nd Shock Battalion and get ready to qualify better training.
Marine Recruit- The entry level of all members to the 242nd, this is given to you before you pass boot camp, and you are required to use a rifle at all times in combat, and you are part of our chain of command, but everyone outranks you but other recruits. |

To tell the truth a corp named after a game exclusively on a different system won't attract many players. My comment has nothing to do with skill |
