Haven't had a chance to test them out, noticed the swarm launcher has improved deliciously.
If its still the same I'll need to rethink my Logistics fitting.

They kill me a lot, which leads me to think they work a little better. |

the kids spam them out like COD noob tubes, i get hit more with the ejected shell casing then the actual shots even at point blank range |

The bit I got to play of this build seemed like they were improved. Before the shots seemed to "fizzle" a lot and just not collide with anything. Other times I would notice an enemy would take damage but I would get no hit indicator.
After precursor I was getting more consistent explosions and hit markers, and kills. Still seemed like a shot or two would be a dud, but overall it looks like they fixed a lot about them. |

the new assault version looks to be a superb squad assist weapon with the extended mag and blast radius. The originals still do the most splash damage though. The new breach version isn't that good against infantry due to the small blast damage and size, but its very good against vehicles. With some damage mods you could take a pair of assault suits using this to take out or pressure tanks once they learn how to hit distant targets. As a logi I would use the assault version so support your squad, the normal version if you are a lone wolf or Scout without support, or the breach as an Assault supporting a tank hunter squad. You will need a good side arm though because of long reload times and the arcing of the shots being a bit tricky. |

This isn't Battlefield 3, we don't need suppression mechanics. ATM I feel mass drivers are very balanced and fit their role as an area denial weapon without need for changes.
When you start talking unique properties of guns/dropsuits, then all the other guns/dropsuits need some unique thing or everyone cries. Then one of those properties when used in mass quantities or with unique fittings becomes OP, and people cry, and CCP has to start tweaking things more.
The uniqueness of mass drivers is that they are grenade launchers. No further distinguishing characteristics are necessary. |

As an aspiring mass driver guru I can say it's very easy to SUCK with a mass driver. Comparing it to the noob tube is just wrong, it doesn't kill in 1 shot and send their dead body flying. Having said that, it's very fun to use, effective at mid-range if you can lead your target cuz the shots are slow. Close range it's a god send, until you get extra-close, then you may just kamikaze your enemy by accident(guilty of this one a few times). All in all a solid asset for any squad. Does well against vehicles too, pair em with a couple av nades and you can do some serious damage. |

...okay
But alas I must agree with you. I do not wish to create more work for CCP as it is. |
