Are there reasons to choose one type vs another?
Colors, styles,etc..
This would be helpful for those of us not from eve. Since we will be able to choose again
Example I chose amarr in everything because it gave an advantage for heavy, but I don't think I had to do that on all of the choices. |

Just like in EVE, the race you choose will not limit you into using only equipment of that faction, you can train anything you want, faction has nothing to do with bonus'es to equipment.
for example, one of my eve characters is caldari, but is trained up to use minmatar spaceships, guns, etc. without penalty |

Choice of race and bloodline affects exactly nothing, it's just a lore-based thing. In EVE it has effects on how your character can look, but so far we've seen no indication of the ability to take our masks off so that may not even be a thing.
You can read about some of the lore here.
Your starting skills are determined by which specialization you choose. I think the options are sentinel, enforcer, and some third thing. This provides no permanent bonus, just starts you out with some gear and with the first few skills already learned. |

Yes same names can be used but you have to go through the choices again, I think, come to think of it no sure.
But I still want to know the differences because I am going to make some alternates this time in case I wipe my character accidentally again |

I was thinking the same thing. Like does one race give you guns that use bullets where as another uses plasma etc. Does a one race benefit a certain role i.e Assault, pilots etc. It would be nice if we could switch races without having to create a new character every time. I noticed that last build when I made a sentinel he seemed to start with maybe one level in amarr heavy suits. Maybe picking caldari will put you in caldari suit skill first
(to be honest I cannot remember if I did the amarr suit skill or if it gave it to me automatically) |

I believe characters are being wiped from now on, not deleted. So you won't need to recreate you character, it will just lose all assets and skills.
You can choose to delete it and create a new one if you want and as far as I know you should be able to use the same name as once deleted it won't exist to be 'already taken' though there may be a delay to recreating a character with the same name.
As for any difference, the only real difference in Eve is the region of New Eden you are born in as far as I remember. |

Since I just went through this. Yes as soon as you delete your character you can immediately claim it and re choose your race etc.. so anyone that what's to do that can at this wipe, just dont delay in claiming your name back. |

(to be honest I cannot remember if I did the amarr suit skill or if it gave it to me automatically) You got the amarr heavy skill cos you chose the sentinel class, if you choose the enforcer class you start with the Caldari assault skill and the Arbieter class gets the scout suit skill, your faction doesn't affect that, only the class or specialization bit, I forget but where you choose sentinel etc. |

Agreed. When I created my alt character, I was trying to get him in a specific copr because a friend was in the corp and I just continually created and deleted same character name, race blood line, all exact same until it randomly put me in the same corp as my friend. Must have created and deleted about 8 times consecutively within about 5 minutes.
