I would also like it if all the directions (n,s,e,w) were shown on the mini map. |

Yeah I could use my hand held in this also, with all that's going on in the game, to do the little memory north south east west drawing figure in my head adds time that could be spent changing direction and shooting the target. You'd think that would be an easy thing, but with our GPS savvy generation, if it doesn't tell you clearly, it's not in our "memory buffer" to draw from.
Plus, you'd think a spinning compass would be the least of electronics you'd have in your SCI-FI helmet that doesn't even have eye slots. |

+1 but I think there should be a compas bar at the bottom of the HUD with co-ordinates so you can say: P1: Hostile approaching P2: Where? P1: 290 degrees something along those lines. |

Except for the part where 290 for you might be 180 for him..? That is the purpose of 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock, 12 o'clock. Learning NESW isn't really that hard, just try to swap it for left/right/in front of/behind whenever you think about it. |

Coordinates would be nice, just lay a grid pattern over the TACNET Map with everything from A-1 to Z-??? Would be cool to say to my teammates, "Enemy @ Echo 5"
Edit: Have players have their current coordinates somewhere on their HUD for quick reference when being asked where they are. |

I remember the points on a compass by sayin "Never Eat Shredded Wheat", going clock wise from North :). A compass bar at the bottom would be great though, to stop confusion, as previously suggested! |

I'm thinking that degrees would be useful for a two man sniper team (sniper, spotter). |

Nah what we need is a glider compass in the HUD that shows object you're moving towards in the middle and the rest in their respective directions.
Edit: add it showing your team mates and squad leaders as well and you can ditch the minimap. |

Degrees don't work because they are relative to the spot you are standing out. Compass points work better (but aren't perfect) because they can refer points in the distance. However, this is generally the same as direction when centered on your self instead of using the minimap.
For example, if I am 50 meters north of you, and you say "enemy at 90 degrees", I will look at 90 degrees from my relative position which something like 45 degrees for you. Make sense?
The best is probably lat/long, but that might be too complicated of a measurement. I'm not sure how this would play out.

yup, people need to give a point of reference when calling out direction. Such as "SE of B". If we had a grid system I would REALLY like a map more like World of Tanks. |

but it should show the OTHER cardinal directions on the compass. Sometimes I have to stop, look, and then think of my relative placement to the compass heading. If the Devs could just place all of the Cardinal directions to the compass heading that would be AMAZING! |
