To begin, I'm an avid Logistics player. I have been using Logistics ever since the start of the previous build - so I'm not talking out of my arse when I raise my point here.
With the buff to Logistics making them on par with Assault Drop-suits defensively, not to mention the +10% Hacking bonus; I'm sort of curious if they may be a tad too diverse. Here's why.
Three equipment slots, two lows, two highs - all with the less than detrimental sacrifice of a slight bit of speed and a sidearm slot. However, you can still carry any main weapon ranging from shotguns, assault rifles, etc. Having the same fitting restrictions as the Assault Suit with an additional two equipment slots makes this thing a beast on the battlefield - able to react to any situation and apply a wide range of squad/team support equipment.
The Type-II Logistics suit sacrifices an equipment slot for speed comparable to an assault suit, so with a Basic Kinetic Catalyzer you have a suit that can clock similar sprint speeds as a Scout suit and have a bonus to hacking; and that's without the new Codebreaker module. With one of those you could land a +35% bonus to hacking speed, and more diverse fitting options than the Assault Suit.
To that end, with the Codebreaker module being a low-powered slot (rather than a high) a Scout suit -could- field it and technically have better speed, but it would be detrimental to the Scout suit's main defense.
Two equipment slots on that one and you can fit a Drop-uplink and whatever other module you see fit. That sort of capability, plus it's speed and defensive capability, allows it to outrank the Scout suit in mobile objective-based operations by a long shot due to defensive stature alone.
The point is here that the new Logistics may be slightly -too- much more versatile than the Assault Suit/Scout Suit, making them rather redundant by comparison.
So, perhaps the 10% hacking bonus should have been applied to the Scout suit for more emphasis on fast, mobile hacking mentality at the expense of equipment/defense ranges?
Perhaps the Codebreaker module should have been an Equipment item, rather than a Low-powered module?
Perhaps they should be restricted to a sidearm slot - focusing them more on their support role?
Please discuss. |

I think they should lose a low power slot. Across the board.
Edit: And Only be able to use two sidearms in standard militia suits and no grenade slots. Thats what assault guys are for. |

LOL :) You should read the Talk about Logistics thread in the feedback forum.) There people say the Logi suit is too squishy and useless as every other suit is better ^^
Actually the strong point of the Logi Suit is its versatility. |

They used to be squishy and useless. But the point the OP is making that they have become too diverse and now are good at the jobs assault suits should be doing.

I dunno about it being too Squishy... I roll with Armor Plates/Armor Repairer and a K17D Nanohive - so I can't comment on that.. |

Well duh. But the BAD Logi players will say they can't kill things, even though the Proto suit can have a prototype gun & more damage mods than you can shake a stick at. I think it's a good suit. I don't use militia Assault suit. I have a prototype one. I do however use the militia scout and logi since the price went up. I agree that they've made assault rather pointless. Oh yay I get an SMG :) |

At a price though ... you would need a Proto Logi Suit and advanced modules just to become equal with an Assault Suit. And however well fitted the Logi is he still is not as versatile weaponwise as an Assault Suit will be. I'd say that this will make the difference as a Logi is maybe a jack-of-all trades but suffers the problems of those as well. A Specialist in a balanced team will always be better than a Logi Suit Fitting that adapts on every spawn. |

Logi cannot wield SMG + Swarm Launcher. and the speed of a Logi is considerable less then of any assault. using a speed increasing module as argument does not really hold ground as all suits can use that module. |

I've been a logi player doing nanos and uplinks for a long time now but generally use the regular scout or type 2 scout suit. For me the logistics tree just seems so slow for the job you need to do. Running to get someone healed needs stamina and speed, not a bigger tank.
I'm sure I'll use the skinweave logi suit to see how I like it, but at this point I plan on training up the scout suit until the pilot suit comes out. |

To be a versatile Logi, you're going to have to invest a shed load of time in those skills, and the loadouts are going to cost a fair few pennies.
They won't have it as easy as some people assume. |

Logistics suits cost much more than Assault suits. That's a fact. I can't afford to lose my fully fitted Advanced suit more than 5 times a round, or I lose ISK rapidly. There's the balance. Also, no sidearm kind of sucks, considering I have soent over a million SP into Scrambler pistols. |
