UPDATE! @CCP. Please lock or delete the thread. I don't think I jumped the gun, I went with the information I had at the time. Things have changed as new information have been posted. Elsewhere. The report is likely false.
News is that Anonymous is claiming to have hacked PSN, again. 10 million user credentials compromised they say. http://it.slashdot.org/story/12/08/16/0334252/anonymous-claims-to-have-hacked-sony-psn-again |

from the same forum post.
Quote:Last night someone claiming to be a member of Anonymous posted what was alleged to be information obtained from 50GB of compromised PSN data, but it turned out the data was the same as that released last year when PSN was hacked. "We've confirmed that the recent claim that PlayStation Network was illegally hacked and that customer passwords and email addresses were accessed is completely false," assured Sony in a statement. |

Threads have a tendency to be updates live, maybe those posts weren't made when I read it, and started to log in here to warn people. |

False. This was already talked about, and time was wasted on fidgeting over it. It did not happen, and no PlayStation Network was not hacked (again). Okay. Lets move on. |

if you were dumb enough to store your credit card information on the psn again. It would be your own fault if it was stolen.

Its entirely irrelevant there is kitten all they can do with the information except maybe credit card fraud. Maybe.
And people who do CC fraud and identity theft don't last long in "free society". |

And if Sony have implemented the most rudimentary security, even the card information should be safe. |

You didnt do anything wrong, most of those articles posted first...then updated latter.
Thats the problem with most game sites etc....they leap before they look.

To be fair, they did that the last time as well :) This time though, there are indications that Sony is right.
I'm just wondering if this is an attempt to
- Discredit Anonymous
- Discredit Sony
- Troll everybody
