You definitely get the unsafe message, so that still good, but yeah, theres no red for the boundaries of the map...
i don't eel like its a problem tho, since you have a general idea of where the map ends and you shouldnt be doing too much at the ends of the map anyway. If you die because you were unsafe, thats your fault for doing nothing in the middle of nowhere.
It also might be the case that the maps are going to be even bigger and there isnt any red since the maps might extend farther. |

It's a horrible idea to not have a red zone. I was some ambush map and could not figure out which way to go because it all looks the same. |

fair enough, but also remember you can always check where you are and the status of the battle by simply using your map by pressing down on the dpad....
blaming your being lost on the lack of red on the map does less of making the change look bad and more of making you look silly...
again, i kinda like the change, but think having some kind of map edging on the minimap is good for the players, especially dropships and fighters.
Unless CCP does something like BF where flying vehicles can extend beyond the edges of the map a little bit. |

I like how it is now no red boundaries still die thou so be sure you look at the top of the screen for any red numbers.I almost died I notice the time I had and ran back to safe zone. lol |

Unless youre in an LAV, then if you check the map you fall through the terrain to your death.

If your driving an LAV you shouldn't be focusing on the console, phone, drinks, or food while your driving. It makes you a hazard to all the others in their LAV's and it must have been CCP smiting you for shenanigans. |

I think I was in your LAV a little bit ago when we died due to the non-existent redline on the mini map. I want it back. |

Snipers looking for perches. people hunting for snipers in there perches and flanking scouts going behind to hack/place droplinks may have good reason to be near redline. Some of irregular maps could cause problems for flying vehicles, flying straight at destination may take into redline, hard to tell what direction is shortest out, checking map while flying could cause crash.
Put red back on mini map. |
