The first suit has to be a scout or assault so on open maps you can get to objectives and not be destroyed in open spaces.
A heavy suit is great in close quarter but not at all on open terrain unless you can group up with a vehicle.
I suppose this is how it should be. |

In my mind the heavy suit is defensive. A mobile man turret that shoots anything that gets close.
Heavies actually make good anti-sniper snipers, you buff up and you can't get insta-killed while spotting the guys who are shooting at you. Problem is your highly visible. |

On the flip side, even an OP proto scout can't really hold a fixed position. (The only way I can protect something after hacking it is by looping around and attacking again as the enemy moves in to retake.) The problem is that it can get kind of boring for the heavy to sit and wait for the action to come to him, while the scout can keep running around and capping more stuff.
Better teamwork will help. |

agreed
If you initial spawn with a heavy, find a vehicle
A possible work-around is to spawn a militia scout and run to capture objective, survive as long as possible and respawn at objective with heavy. It is also a good idea with the large maps to beef up your pistol sidearm to give you some good range and anti-snipe. |

Yes I agree it gets kinda boring to wait at an objective the whole game, so the heavy has limited fun , unless you skill up two suits so next build I suppose this is the route to take. |

train LAV or make a dropship/lav pilot friend/teamwork ftw
even scouts have to run a lot in bigger maps |

That would be a fun surprise: blowing up that LAV screaming around only to have the driver jump out and turn you into paste with an HMG. |

i still need to test the new heavy after stats reset, if the heavy can dominate the CQC then am fine with disadvantage in open maps but if we get raped at CQC (like in the last build) and we already useless at long range then damn right they need to rebuff the heavy again, training two suits from the get go is not funny but if traded for being a god at CQC then thats understandable |

Well I'm running in an tier 1 suit and I must say that cqc is quite good. The overheat is about perfect IMHO. Its still hard to kill a scout at close quarters which I'm not sure about. But these huge maps are almost impossible to play without a team to run with or a vehicle so the trade off is going to be to get another suit going let me know whtat you think darky si |

Training two suits will cause you to divide you SP which other don't and you will be short on better gears however that means you will be more versatile to fill different roles in the battlefield which is always a good thing for a corp. I still don't know how to work around this yet tbh i would love to test training two suits at a time and what pros and cons will come up as i do. Thanks for the post man now i know what to do on this build |

It is what it is but these large maps a heavy has to run with a group.no doubt
Although I am starting to enjoy learning new tactics, adapt or die. The trick is to find a place on the open map to make them come to you, because the terrain is horrible for a heavy to navigate ,half the hills you can't climb. Your team just hops over them no problem then your left to hold your own.
Its becoming quite fun |
