So I can hear others talk in my team, corp, etc. but when I try to talk... nothing. When I have push to talk on my mic is muted when it is off it is not but no one hears me. Yes my mic is plugged in. I see the speaker icon. What am I doing wrong? Do I need one of those voice comm links in order to communicate? I looked at all my PS3 settings as well as the settings in the Dust options.
I'm stumped. I don't normally have problems figuring out minor issues like this either. |

No it doesn't turn green. That is how I know it is not working. |

That could be the problem if you haven't already done that.
Yes I have done this. I have switched between corp, team, squad and it does not work on any of those channels.

That could be the problem if you haven't already done that. This. If it stays with a red X through the mic, try turning PTT off via select.
I do keep PTT off. If I turn it on I get the red X on the speaker icon.

Hmmm the one thing I did not check was the mute slide switch on the headset. I don't think it is on though b/c I was using the same headset on my PC when I'm playing Eve. (If I need to mute I just do it on the Mumble dialog.) But I have put my X12 headset back on my PC now (it was on my Xbox) so I don't have to keep swapping.
I will have to check this out when I get home. |

I had to do this as well. I have an in-line mute on my mic. I turned off PTT and just use my mute button. Everything started working then.
I did try it both ways with PTT on and off. Hopefully it will be as simple as the mute slide switch on the headset being the issue.
Thanks for the input guys. I will let you know what happens. |

I think at the very least, they need to remap the button that is used for it.I think that R2 could work, and I would love for the weapon toggle button to be somewhere else.
So I have to admit (reluctantly of course) that I am a complete knucklehead. I thought I had checked the PS3 settings and when I looked last night evidently I had not. I had failed to set it to use my Turtle Beach headset mic. So that was the reason.
I have to agree with a remapping. Actually I would rather be able to map my own buttons rather than have only a few button maps available. I know I will never use PTT. If I need to mute I will do it with my inline mute. |
