We need the ability to sell items back to the marketplace for ISK. I'm not talking AUR items, those should be marked no sell, so people can't get rich with ISK by selling an AUR item back.
However, with the addition of Salvage, I believe we need the ability to sell the salvaged items to the marketplace for a fraction of the buying price. Some of us might not ever use a Light Damage Modifier or a Sub-machine gun. Having the ability to sell this stuff would keep our assets section from getting crowded. |

the problem with your not being able to sell aur is that we wont be buying our items from some random neverending supplied market after awhile itll be run by other people thus not being able to sell aur items as well wont sit well with anyone. plus once the players take over youll be able to sell your salvage to others. for right now use what you can and just stockpile the rest hell put it on your militia sets and go nuts |

Selling AUR items is a two way street, and you're only looking at one side.
Side A) Sell AUR items for ISK, get ISK rich quick, buy lots of stuffs - you are apparently against this. Side B) Buy AUR items for ISK, play for free, have better items - you may or may not be against this. |

That's why I said AUR items should be No Sell. Meaning, you can't sell it to the marketplace or to another player. You buy it, it is yours.
What I'm suggesting is a way to sell ISK items back to the marketplace for a small portion of ISK (smaller then buy value). CCP knows how to do this, they do it in EVE Online. I'm sure they can work it in here so we can sell the useless items back to the marketplace.
Nothing AUR costing should be sold so players have no chance to get rich on ISK by selling AUR items. However, the ability to sell items that cost normal ISK (those salvaged) should be able to be sold for a fraction of the buying price. |

We do it in EVE because they are players. Every buy order and sell order is from a player, unless it is a seeded skillbook or a 'sells for .01 ISK a unit' default order. Even... no, ESPECIALLY the AUR items, after all, how do you expect non paying characters to get these things? Many people can play EVE 'free' because someone else bought their month (PLEX) and they earned it from them. |

I'm hoping once we are on Singularity that we will have the use of the full Eve market - including selling and buying. It's sill for us to get loot we can't use - I have 5 Proto heavy suits I'd happily sell to you guys now :) |

Quick explanation of how Eve markets work, because it is most likely how Dust markets will work:
CCP has stated that their goals with Eve and Dust are to put as much control in the player's hands as possible. This means no NPC buy orders. If there are NPC buy orders on launch, expect them to go away within a few expansions.
- You can buy AUR items in Eve and sell them for ISK to other players.
- Because of this, you can buy AUR items with ISK instead of AUR, and the players decide that value.
- You can buy a month's subscription to Eve and sell it for ISK to other players.
- Because of this, you can buy a month's subscription for Eve with ISK instead of real money, making it potentially "free to play".
Following this pattern, I'm fairly certain Dust players will be able to sell AUR items for ISK and buy AUR items with ISK. When the player market goes live, you'll be able to sell your salvage in the same manner.
TL;DR: It's not implemented yet, and when it is, it will be up to other players to buy your salvage/AUR items. |

This - items purchased with AUR will eventually be available for ISK - but since players set the price and want at least what they paid, and since the AUR to ISK conversion is not balanced, these AUR items will eventually be very expensive in terms of ISK. |

If NPC will be gone a few months after launch, we will soon run out of items to sell/purchase |

In Eve there are people collecting resources as we speak. They are also collecting blueprints so that they can turn those resources into items.
When this game goes live, there will be blueprints added to Eve (and maybe Dust too). These same players will start manufacturing items for us to purchase. Manufacturers are competitive with each other, Eve/Dust's markets are just as much PvP as every other aspect of the game. Prices will be competitive and demand will be high, so there will be no shortage of items for you to purchase, and there will be no shortage of other players wanting to buy your items.

+2 for Terram for 2 good posts, everything he said ^ It would be great to have the ability to sell these isk items back right now though, not being able to restock the same way we have been I've got 30 odd damage mods I can't use, I've tried buying individual items to increase the number of available fittings but it's not working, it seems the fittings have to be bought 1 full fitting at a time, so any surplus is unusable at the minute.
Also the 5 Sagaris hulls I just got are worthless as a Gallente skilled HAV operator :-( |
