So Im charging point A in a skirmish match when low and behold i notice that im being bombed from on high by a camper perched on, you guessed it, one of those towers. OK, i thought, ill handle this. So i call in a dropship of my own (militia fit) and proceed up the tower. Being a good little camper he is, he sees me coming steps out of his vehicle prepared to fire on me.
Oh no! what's this!? Here come his swarm missiles oooh nooo what am i to do!? *Squish* Down goes our camper although, to his credit, my militia ship was trashed.Oh well, i thought, ill hop out of my ship, trash his ship, then jump off the tower back into the fight. However his ship seems to be non militia and therefore was a chore for me to take down with my assault rifle
But wait, what's this? "Hack Ship OButton"? Heck yeah ill press O! So i hop in my new commandeered ship laughing to myself and flying it around being shot at by the guy from whom it was stolen to no avail, the thing was nicely tanked.
***Now as a side note i fully understand that the ISK value of a dropship isn't all that impressive. i also realize that me stealing this guys ship probably didn't hurt his wallet much, just his ego, however flying around in his ship i thought of the possibilities of stealing a ship that WOULD be a large financial loss to the enemy and how glorious a tale that would be.****
Eventually i decided that i wanted this guys ship for myself when i saw how well it tanked. So i played the rest of the match flying around and knocking off tower campers and such in order to be in the vehicle at the end of the match.
The end came and i frantically left the match, curious to gaze upon my new trophy ship. Admittedly i also was curious about how he had fit the thing as it held up well. I scroll down to assets >> Dropships, and wait for it to load my new ship, only to find the sadest part of my beta experience thus far. "NO DATA FOUND"
I truly hope this was just an oversight by the devs or something that just plain hasnt been implemented yet. I feel i deserved to have that ship show up as my asset after the match having kept it in tact the whole round(and stealing it in the first place). I realize that in your run of the mill FPS stealing the enemies vehicle doesnt have much of an impact, however this is a game where ships and such actually have a real ingame value and arent just auto spawns on the map. Because of this i feel it would be ashame if you cant keep the things you steal from the enemy.

Heh, the guy probably had 30 of them in reserve. This gives me a good idea though, to leave some Eryx and Sagaris lying around for people to play with.
Glad you had fun, and welcome to dust.
Oh, and assets are stuff you have in reserve, not what you have on the ground. Currently there is no way of telling what a mystery ship is, unless your gunner shoots someone with it, and there is no way of telling what the fit is, aside from any equipment you can turn on/off or shoot. |

I completely agree that stolen hacked enemy vehicles should be kept by the person that hacked it.
But, and this is a big but (lol)
If the person who hacked it does not have the skill requirements, they should not be able to call it in until they do.
So, with that being the case, their best option is to sell the vehicle or wait till they've got the proper skills to use it.
Of course, if the vehicle is destroyed in the battle they wouldn't take it home with them. Also, in the case of two or three people hacking the same vehicle...does it go to the person who first started the hack or credited to everyone? |

Indeed ill even go further and say that if the person cant drive said vehicle hacking shouldn't even be an option. As with being able to use the modules they can just default turn off(meaning they give no stats) like they would in eve if you can fly a ship but cant use a certain module. |

Just because you can't fly / drive / poke buttons on a given vehicle doesn't mean you can't bork up the lock a bit (hack the vehicle, make them re-hack it to get it back or blow their own vehicle up).
Personally, I'd like to have the option to jam a key in the lock and break the thing off. ^__^ |
