You misunderstand, Tournament starts on august 21 an will go until the realease of open play.

Since we are not getting support for corp battles in the next patch or even at release as far as I can determine, will be hard to have any type of meaningful corp vs corp battles. I like the idea and to tell you the truth, it was what I was looking forward to when Dust opens, just don't think it is going to happen unless CCP changes their direction in the next couple of months.
I wrote a thread on this, maybe on this page maybe a page or two back, titled Dust Corps at launch (DEVS please reply.

We still don't know what CCP will say about the NDA being in effect on that date. So until then, this tournament is for Dust Only. |

ppl really gonna jump through hoops like on MAG just to try and q sync ppl and hope to get them on the correct teams?
all this while still in beta?
just wait for the release or better yet gladiator arenas for proper competitive matches that u can actually setup

We are looking at a similar Beta Tourney ourselves to promote DUSTUniCon, but waiting on the release of the new build to see exactly how grouping will work. So there is interest in this idea, it just may take some time getting off the ground.

We are looking at 12v12 (or whatever is allowed) arena style to start to make the match making easier and its states in the Patch Notes

This sounds cool, but I don't have a corp.
I might have to scout around and get into something just for this tourny.
Also, I didn't think Merc Packs had a code. I bought one and it never had one....just DL it and the stuff was ingame the next time that I logged on. If this is true, then how will you implement this prize exactly?

just and FYI a clan/corp battle that involves randoms aint an actual real corp/clan battle.

Instead of you guys all responding in these tourny threads why not post in the threads that are bitching about there not being a corp function and corp vs corp battles? Why jump through hoops and hope and prey you get matched correctly when corp battles were what I joined Dust for to begin with and it was something that was very heavily promoted as being one of Dust's major selling points. You should be able to create your char when Dust goes live and join a player corp the first time you boot up.
CCP is talking about not putting corp functions in the game till the 00 patch at the end of 2013 when they introduce sov and district ownership. In my opinion we can wait that long for sov and district ownership because that isn't going to effect basic game play. We shouldn't have to wait that long to be able to play with our corpmates and I don't mean 4 man or 6 man squads, I mean being able to field a full team and take on all comers!
Randoms get smoked? Too fing bad, DUST/EVE is a harsh place, adapt or die over and over again. |
