The patch is coming soon, and it appears we will earn SP at a dramatically slower rate (normal rate).. SP focus will be important.
Starting over from scratch skills-wise.. what will you focus your first 5 million SP into, and why?
If you're changing from what you did last time, why? |

For me, I focused primarily on vehicle fitting skills and dropships, then swarm launcher since AV was sorely lacking, then Sagaris and SMG.
I'll probably do scout again with Proto SL, Proto SMG and possibly medic stuff. Not sure yet on vehicles, I'll have to see the changes. |

if artillery turrets are implemented, i have been really excited for that. skilling up to use those effectively will probably take up at least 10 mil sp |

It depends on the size of the map's if its a small map ill be specing AV and Smg's and shotty's and a scout suit.
If the maps are medium Standard assualt rifle Av and assualt gear.
If its a large map ill spec sniper's and Av using a heavy suit. |

The skill wipe details are in the sticky at the top of this sub-forum. Between the 14th and 21st all ISK, SP, and inventory will be wiped. AUR and merc pack items will be reimbursed. |

I completely screwed up my skill set this time around, since this is the first build I was in and I was trying out everything to see what I was good with. In the next build, I'll probably focus on Assault Armor and Assault Rifles. Anything left will probably go into Engineering or Electronics so that I can use more effective dropsuit modules.
The ISK gain rate dropping to a quarter of what it is now is a bit concerning, though. I usually end up spending around 60,000 ISK per battle replenishing my stock, and since I make a little under 200,000 ISK per match at the current rate, I'll be making under 50,000 ISK per match at the new rate, rendering my current build unsustainable. I'm not complaining, just taking note that I'll have to cut back on my spending (or I'll have to die less often) in the full game. |

at least you figured it out now. CCP doesnt want people to be able to run proto suits all day without caring. your gonna need to call in the big guns when you need them, not just when you feel like it.
beta testers are gonna have a huge leg up on release, not from stats but in knowledge. In the EVE verse, knowledge is ******* powerful. |

Logistics.
Nothing but logistics.
First the drop suit so that I can take advantage of the new nanite injector mechanics.
Then the Logistics LAV (Limbus) which should be improved at this point, but I doubt it. |

You got it right.
In New Eden, everything is about adaptation in order to survive. If you see that you are suffering a financial loss, you will instinctively want to be careful on how you fight. |

I know sp gain is boosted but I haven't seen anything about isk gains being boosted. If anything ccp said payouts were being boosted due to price increases for tanks |

I forget exactly who mentioned this, but a regular referred to an IRC chat or something. I can't conclusively state this is the case, but I do hope it is. The first 5M question is the same either way, but if we get it slower, it'll be far more important.
For you medics.. are you planning on going Logistics suits or something quicker like a type II scout suit?
Personally, I'm not at all a fan of the more sluggish Logistics dropsuit line. If they put the type II scout type suit in there, I could be tempted to train that up, given they have a Proto level Scout / fast Logistics suit.
I can't seem to give up my Nanos and Uplinks.. no idea where I'll put a repair gun and an injector.. along with my proto swarm launcher and SMG. ;) |

This build I was a dipshit and put my first sp into maxing out the repair tool, died too much to use it. Next time, I'm getting the Type 2 Logisuit, getting myself a EXO-5, and blowing some **** up. THEN I'll spec into Logistics/AV LAV, then swarms. Maybe even an assault suit, Ive never owned an assault suit before. |

For anyone who is worried... The 'normal' SP rate we are going back to is not as bad as you think. Speaking as someone who was playing before they kicked it up to 4x. Someone said above it'd take you months to get into a 'decent' sagaris. Assuming you picked the arbiter role when creating your character so you started with shield skills... It'd take you two... maybe three weekends tops to get back into a sagaris. Maybe even one... if you're able to pull like 20 hour days.
Oh, and the first thing I am training is Knife handling V, of course :) |

ahhh i really dont know, as we had sooo many skill points in the last build i tried everything and liked it (apart from scout and sniper thats not me) i loved my standard assault with my AR and also one shotting people in the face with a forge gun makes me smile alot and then there's logi, i find it really satisfying to run around healing people giving them ammo and watching the points roll in as people spawn at your points or take some ammo.
I think what i will do is focus on the assault suit adn from there branch out, so i can still go AV with grenades and then have a fit with repair tools and nano hives |
