I found that to be an interesting read.
I am totally going to get the NeoCom app for my Vita. I can see myself now sitting at work on my lunch break creating various loadouts and using the market (or plain goofing off at work - cause it never happens) or chatting it up. i also found this interesting:
Quote: Now, as a DUST player, youGÇÖre going to see that manifest in some different ways. Initially, the contracts that youGÇÖll see in your contract system are going to be based in the high security areas and are going to be on terrestrial planets. ..... When we get that balanced right on the terrestrial planets and in high security, we start expanding very quickly from there out into different kinds of planets and into different levels of security.
Can you say water worlds, or lava worlds, or complete airship only battles (no land). Will be interesting it will be.
And being able to hold the multiple contracts "such as holding one to win, then holding a different one from someone else to throw the match. Being a Merc for hire is going to be fun |

There will be a system to automate player defense contracts so that only trusted merc corps can accept it from attacks. |

Ah yes... throwing a match because someone else paid you more... Great way to lose trust for future contracts :) |

"We expect that Precursor will actually - the actual target launch date is August 21st, it may go out a little earlier than that just depending on how things go with the actual migration. So, itGÇÖs not exactly next week for what itGÇÖs worth, but the 2st is the target launch date."

I hope good solo mercs will have a role, i.e a corp can hire that merc for a day etc. |

That doesn't change the fact that just like in the eve universe the fact that my corp is trusted at the outset of a war doesn't mean I'm not working a different angle or getting payed double to possibly lose quietly.
We are witnesses to something new to first person shooters folks we are not just mercenaries by title anymore given to some team by a developer. We get to embody that title in it's truest sense, whether we follow the path of honor, or greed is for us to decide. |

When manufacturing comes into the game I imagine holding territories will be even more lucrative.
Eve already has things like import/export taxes so I would think producing your gear locally would give an advantage. Also, selling your surplus. |

Guy seriously needs an editor, that was a very wordy interview.
Anyway, yeah, lets see if mouse+keyboard is as egalitarian as he thinks it'll be. |

David Reid threw in every EVE/DUST buzzphrase in his repertoire for that interview. |

Anyway, yeah, lets see if mouse+keyboard is as egalitarian as he thinks it'll be. David Reid threw in every EVE/DUST buzzphrase in his repertoire for that interview. Right? Its hilarious. He literally uses a mental list that he draws from for every single interview. Anyone remember that David Reid Drinking Game thread? |
