Dunno if anyone else has noticed this but in the MQ if you watch the main screen for long enough you see a demo of the fitting window. This fitting has information about suits we presently don't have.
Resists.
Apparently the categories are rather unsurprising:
Projectile. Hybrid. Explosive. Laser.
Seems to be resist bars for both shields and armour. Which means there will be armour resist enhancers for drop suits. Which also means that it will be conceivable for drop suit mercs to stack resist bonuses against missile turrets and the like.
The fact that there is an animation of this window (and has been since the beta started) and it's not in the game suggests to me that CCP have some kind of parallel development strategy. Releasing historical builds while ironing out the flaws in game balance on each concurrent build and changing stuff if the game doesn't go as predicted.
Or they could have been removed or changed into the classic eve resists (which actually makes more sense). |

I don't think so. CCP have stated (I believe) that Dust will not have damage types like EVE. It's a much simpler damage mechanic. That vid might be just some old artwork which was not changed since ever. |

True like I said, could have already been removed.
And I actually remember the opposite, I remember CCP Jian (?) saying to the gaming press that you'll be able to stack resists "just like in eve". But stuff changes. Personally I think resists for dropsuits are good idea.
Hybrid resist tanked heavies, zomg, can you imagine? Okay maybe not such a good idea . |

I'm pretty sure there will still be explosive resistance plating to take less grenade damage and such. It might just be that all suits have 0% resistances, and then you can equip a few modules that lower damage from some types of weapons. Would give lasers a role. |

Those gloves will go with my EM resistant hat which i use to microwave in safety (cant trust those microwaves never know if they are being used for controlling my mind)
