This game is operating solely on core gameplay elements with Eve Online mechanics first - and FPS mechanics second.
It's cool though, we from New Eden know that you've just made this thread to warrant attention like so many others before you in Eve Online. It's the same argument, you didn't get your way so you're done with the game.
See you in a few months, mate. No-one ever truly leaves New Eden.
I am sorry, but that shows you don't know what an FPS is.
Make the game FUN, then add New Eden. Nobody is going to play it if it has fail FPS mechanics, but has buckets of Eve Online.
Dust IS NOT EVE. It isn't anything but DUST. Honestly, I would rather have a game that encouraged you to attack and attack, low per death ISK cost, but made up for the fact that you die 40 times a game and lose the same amount.
Currently, DUST feels like a game where you should die 30 times but you don't. I can take sniper rounds ro the face and survive. I can run headlong into an SMG with a scout suit and dodge bullets.
I liked MAGs system better. You were lethal but fragile. You could improve your fragility marginally through skills and armor, but if a Level 1 player got the drop on a Level 70, the Level 1 would win.
The gun battles could last more than several seconds too, but not ridiculous like now. If wasn't insta kill, but it was also not a dance around me and dodge bullets shooter either.
MAG to me was a happy medium that id Zipper had had the vision could have been great. As it is, it wasn't.
I always thought the gameplay would transfer perfectly into the MMOFPS genre. Making you buy your ammo and gear, even if it was a small cost per death, would have made battles worth something. You would have worried about the cost of 22 deaths because a 1,000$ death would mean 22k $ end of match.
This may all be personal preference, but I thought DUST would be more like that, not focused on "surviving" but rather "length of survival". Sounds similar but has very different implications.
I dunno. Just all IMO. |
