First off I'd like to say that this thread isn't intended to bash or even discourage others from trying the damn game.
My DUST experience wasn't all that great to be honest. "Why?" you ask, well where do I begin....The overall visuals are bland(brown, brown everywhere; hopefully just a beta thing). The combat is sluggish to the power of slow. The zoomed sights for assault class weapons is annoyingly distracting and ugly. Not only does it kill my accuracy but I'm not even given the option to remove it (red dot sight would be perfect) just because EVE takes place in the future doesn't mean you have to saturate it with "unique", "different" type of stuff. Drop the halo sight and stick to whats been working in so far every fps. Did I mention the sluggy combat? It literally takes forever to get into the fight and not just because of the timer I'm talking about having to constantly pick your loadout, the spawn timer doesn't even show up without choosing one.....I set it to default for a reason. It would be nice to have the loadout menu pop up when you choose to use something other than what you set to default. This would kill having to press the same button 5 times before your spawn timer even shows. The controls are unresponsive sometimes during firefights with multiple people involved. The only reason I'm not saying "pay to win" is because I understand that DUST is free.
Please address some of these issues I actually like the idea of DUST. |

Its mostly beta unfouratuntely I can say that likely the scopes are staying they way they are customized weapons are not on the launch list. |

The issues with the sights is actually the biggest thing that's bothering me. It feels like I'm shooting from the bridge of my nose, usually sights would focus on where you're aiming and blur out the rest (like in real life) but that huge scope is just awful. |

I wouldn't be worried about sights - at the very least we will have sight variants for each racial weapon. I believe it was the Amarr assault rifle (may have been Gallente?) in the 2009 video, that one had a red dot. |

I find myself dying over and over because the assault rifles appear to be very weak! When I get 17 hit markers, and the dude doesn't die, I get angry. I'm not a fps expert, nor am I a noob, but it seems a very frustrating when you start out. I also find "leveling up" to be very confusing, like what level am I and what level is the guy killing me over and over. It is a pretty cool experience, but the learning curve seems very steep |

This isn't CoD there are no set levels like ranks. They instead incorporate the EVE skill method where you actually spend time working on skill plans which in turn allow you to use better modules, suits, weapons, etc etc. The only thing that matters is what your focus is and how dedicated you are.
The people that were killing you with breeze were probably AUR'd up the ass and wearing all those nifty firebrand suits, T2 modules, and those awesome X-9001 rifles (BLACK edition). |

This. New Eden doesn't have "levels". |
