I've had a few beta invites since April just for being an EVE player, the first came a week after I asked CCP Soundwave for one back at the London meetup 
That was during the Fanfest build, seems like an age a go but I'm surprised to see any new players from EVE since we got invites thrown from us from all directions. |

There were plenty last night. I managed a couple of high kill/zero death games as a Scout thanks to them. (#1 sign of noobery: Swarm Launcher heavies shooting at infantry)
Of course I proceeded to get cocky and promptly bit the dust upon running into some Proto Assault guys. |

Train up the basic skills and the skills you want, Ive managed to kill alot of people with better skills and going back to the milita fits. |

You have no idea how many gunners Ive lost. Becuase they didnt shoot the sniper I wanted them to shoot. |

Well they never specified to those of us "outside" of EVE Online, but it's good to see that you'll "all" be able to play the new upcoming build as well. Which is good. |

LOLOLOLOLOL - Welcome to DUST 514.
The #1 rule of DUST..... Get out of Militia Gear (dropsuit and weapons) as fast as possible. Gotta remember, some of us have been in beta for a while and so we have quite a bit of SP / ISK and higher level Dropsuits (more shields, more hp). First weekend I was in that was the best advice someone gave me. If you have Merc pack, the Dragonfly dropsuit (permanent) and the "Toxin" sub machine gun (permanent) are great for someone starting out. Gets you out of Militia Gear, and you don't have to restock them. So you start with a decent dropsuit and a decent weapon.
I'm sure someone just starting EVE would say the same thing. |

1) does not have a ps3
2) doesn't give a damn about dust
any eve players who wanted to play dust and have a ps3 already got a key, since it's been stupidly easy to get a key from an eve account so far.
most eve players resent CCP for making the game console exclusive, and don't want anything to do with it (aside from griefing dust players from orbit).
most of the more casual console players i've talked to want to like the game, but it's too rough to love right now, maybe in a few months |
