OKAY, yes its a free to play game when it's released... I get that, but.... Please don't tell me some of you hardcore CCP fans out there don't want to buy a genuine special edition version? Or have an original box? Or CD or whatever???
Its just something about me I guess, I like having a hard-copy of my products, even if its useless without the internet connection, and will be outdated within a month, I'd still buy it, just for nostalgic purposes... I am afraid of course that for two reasons, one because it would cost unnecessary time and attention, and two because it would make some people scream about pay to play even though its not necessary, it won't be implemented...
However, seriously, if there is anyone who actually would like this upon release, or someone who has a GENUINELY good reason why it shouldn't be available upon release I'd love to hear it. |

It costs money to produce and takes away resources from elsewhere, just to create a vanity product. And it kills trees and creates unnecessary pollution.
I'd probably buy one, but creating one just doesn't make much sense, as CCP would be unable to realize economies of scale for a small production run for an F2P game - making the box either prohibitively expensive, or sold at cost. |

How very depressing =(....
Oh well I can still hope and dream and ask =). And just because something is impractical doesn't necessarily mean a lot of people don't want it =P. |

For the record CCP doesn't offer a box set for Eve which is pay to play. They tried it once or twice but wasn't economically feasible. |

Hmmm... How about giving full access beta testers the option to buy a limited edition box set? Maybe throw a T-shirt in it, give an activation code to by pass the cover charge, and have a decent price tag?
I'd buy one. |

EvE is download only, I bought a disk at wal-mart.
A pre-order that comes with some arum and odd items, like unlimited version of standard heavy suit and hmg. Not pay to win, since to win they will need to buy advanced and proto instead of their free standard stuff.
Maybe a disk in box if ordered direct from ccp along with subscription to E-ON(the eve universe magazine, I'm sure it will cover eve and dust after launch) The eve boxed version had a guide for new players on the disc. |
