its me again Tami. do you think dust will ever become single shard like CCP's current game eve-online.
have you looked into this as a company with a huge inside knowledge of single shard worlds could an FPS console game be ported to single shard, could it run like tranquility does ?
is it viable and would it out preform single battle server networks, some systems would become main meeting points, but could be re-enforced nodes 24/7 how big could world mapping be if a single shard was used, more or less than what we have on current dust battle network.
ideas guys, do you think it could work
main pointers and main problems that would be encountered |

Ummmm...Nav?
Apart from that, Dust lives in a single shard universe. As for the battle servers, I think that will also be single shard at launch. I hope I'm not overly optimistic. |

The battles may be performed on separate servers, as it happens in EVE, but these servers are all using data from a single shard, meaning you really can't tell which server you are connected to, as all data is transparent. |

Yes and no. Unless the lag mechanism is drastically improved, Dust won't be able to support multi-homed battles. I have my fingeres crossed but the architecture right now just can't support that. |

Ive been hoping that the sever we're on is intentionally underpowered, the better to stress test with.
I'm pretty sure that because of the ping time issue there will be alt least 3-5 regional battleservers. But everything will be integrated, essentially in realtime, on Tranquility. |
