Let me put it this way, vehicles are the powerhouses of the game, so a less skilled player CAN get by in a vehicle in ways he couldn't as an infantryman... However, I assure you some of the best players are vehicle drivers as well, and you can tell which ones they are because they are insanely good, even when teamed up on by TONS of proto-AT of moderate skill...
Thing is with further implementation it should come out that all sides have a fair risk to reward ratio... To put it simply in order for a tank to be a tank, it has to have an insanely high reward ration, which it does, if it had a lower reward ration it would be a glorified tin foil white elephant with no purpose on the battlefield... The only thing that needs balancing is not how strong the tanks are, or the use of them, or the amount of kills and rewards they get, but rather, the risk needs to be increased... Which is happening, since they are making tanks cost in the lines of 1.3 million just for the hull in the next patch... So frankly you'll see a lot fewer tanks, they'll be a lot more cautious, and probably a large number of rage quits and a huge feeling of success when you kill them =).
Unfortunately what many of you may have forgotten is they'll also be more **** in the next patch when you do see them, and its really simple why... There will be tons fewer of them... Thus, if your an AT specialist there will be nothing to do, so no one will specialize AT, which means when these behemoths hit the battlefield it will take a lot more then it did in this version to muster the force to resist them since in this patch everyone and their mother went AT... Basically without even buffing the tank, they will make tanks a lot more powerful, while simultaneously increasing the risk of using them, and still making the one or two specialist AT gunners not only MVP's but also the true heroes in the game, and making their reward all the more satisfying when they take a tank out...
As a final point, I think some balancing DOES need to be done, but not nearly as much as everyone else seems to think... Just minor tweaks here and there... |
