Hi all,
it is in my opinion that one of the most important features in a game is it's support of clans, or as they are called in EVE, corporations.
Clan support is important for a long term community. Without the ability to organize and fight with friends, a game stagnates very quickly.
I have several things to suggest, and would like any feedback on these ideas!
Firstly,
A Dedicated Corporation Area, similar to the Marketplace.
There are several advantages to having one. It would be a sort of gathering place or hub for all the corporations in this game.
Corporations could advertise on the front page, using uploaded and moderated images after bidding ISK for a time- slot when their ad would run. Selecting their ad would lead to the clans front page in the UI.
Every clan would receive a front page of sorts. Here, the corporation could be joined (if open), or applications could be sent (if closed). The corps uploaded symbol would be shown, along with their name, number of members, and a spot for the corporation to type rules, the corp charter, instructions, boasting, or anything else they feel like. Depending on the level of privacy a CEO could set, a member list, stats such as total ISK, SP, KDR, W/L, and other things could be seen.
A sort of search bar would also be there, where you could search for a corp based on name, ISK, W/L, KDR, CEO, or many other filters.
The "My Corp" bar would allow you to join the corporation chat channel, view all the things described above, interact with other corporation members, or, if in a director position, use any administrative tools at your disposal.
Other menu options such as viewing a current SOV map, viewing a list of the latest engagements and exchanges of territory, (if reported), and leaderboards would be available too.

Corporations should have a huge focus in DUST, and giving players an easy interface to join and manage them is a good idea. Plus, making them visible would encourage randoms to form one and work together!
Full Corporation Team Deploy
Similar to any other game, I want to be able to be put into a matchmaking game with my corp mates. I am very leery right now about buying expensive vehicles and trusting randoms to cover me... At least if we had a group deploy, I could put away a little of that fear!
You would simply join a corp, load up a battle lobby for your corp, and deploy whenever the officer in charge decides to deploy.
Possibly, to prevent total pubstomping, there could be a "clan deploy" server, the only server where groups could deploy, but randoms could join also. However they are essentially asking to get whooped there, so there couldn't be any complaints. Personally, I would just rather be allowed to join any game, but I can already imagine the QQ and "corps are OP" threads on these forums.
While these are mainly requests, I felt as if it was more in place in General Discussion as I wanted to encourage people to talk about these subjects and give their own input. Feel free to leave feedback, etc.
