I'd like to avoid getting torn apart by the unforgivingness that is eve, and it seems like the only way to do that is by being in a corp, but it seems like even getting recruited into one is damn near impossible. if you are an eve veteran, can you plz explain how corps work and the best way to run one, recruit ppl, get into them, or take one down. No trolls plz.

think of a corp as a business with lots of other businesses around you but without any laws.
if you cant get in that mindset you are going to have a bad time. |

It's easy to get into one. The hard part is finding one you like. Check the forums in the Corp recruitment section.
Starting a corp in Eve is only good if you already have ppl you play with. Plus you need the skills trained to start one. |

very good point.
Dont think clan like other games. Literally think of it as a business where as long as you can get away with something, you can do it. Im talking scams, strongarming, manipulating the economy, sabotage, throwing money at a team to just win, etc.
If you dont and play nice, someone else will. |

And don't forget Gate Camps. Those nasty little Gate Campers from.4 down to Null Sec can really cost you a fortune. |

Once you see grouping implemented you will see much more groups of people trying to recruit you in game.
If you have a mic and you know how to work as a team, corps will be fighting over you.
Just wait until corps and grouping is implemented. You will find a home. |

Honestly most corps are not that difficult to get into. I mean sure you have your more hardcore corps that are going to require insane minimum stats and whatnot, but I would not be too concerned about it.
Also keep in mind that most Dust corps are going to be run by FPS Console players, so I think your issues with finding a corp will be lessened even further. I don't mean to shamelessly plug, but if you're interested in being part of a more established EVE / FPS group, let me know and we can talk. |
