I am a beta virgin, so I have been trolling, um, trawling the forums for some clues as to how be a good tester, where to provide information, what information to provide, what requires testing. Most of the information I was looking for has been covered by the community already so that was good. However I found it hard to get an answer to what needs testing. The general consensus has been EVERYTHING
Okay I'm good but not that good.
So far i've tried various maps, and various suits. I've called in lavs, havs and even a dropship (which wouldn't fly). Generally though things work as expected. As such I have played as the game is meant to be played and fed back issues as they occur. But what else is useful?
Should I be taking out a light dropsuit and looking for sticking points, boundary glitches etc?
Should I do the maths as I fit the suit to make sure the stats add up?
Do we get a heads up from ccp when they want us to test a specific area?
tl;dr are there hints for quality testing? |

Id say your on the ride track to being a good tester...researching and asking questions.
Push the game to its limits, find the breaks and bugs, report em.
Thats really about it.
Ive been here about a month, and other then the one stress test, l havent seen the Devs post for any special kind of testing...maybe in this months Update. |

Or keep trying different things. Especially the different load outs. And just have fun.
By the way to make the drop ship fly is L1 it took me a few attempts too my first time to get it off the ground, and if you want ofly high fast rock it back and forth while pounding L1. Enjoy! |

Anyway, also try playing the game the way it's not supposed to be played, you'll come up with some interesting results. |

 Just wanted to make a point here....unless i am actually playing with my corp in the same battle, i usually am always testing wonky fittings, especially ones that make no sense so i can test the waters for my corp buds. I'd say at least half of my tank deaths are largely a result of me rolling in a tank that just doesnt make sense lol.
Other times, i make stupid mistakes or im playing drunk lol. College life is good. |
