Hi All,
New to these forums so please go easy on me!
I have been thinking from an EVE players perspective how a EVE corporation/alliance will go about selecting DUST corporations for their contracts. It got me thinking that as the EVE players will essentially be playing the role of employer, the DUST corps will therefore fill the role of potential employee and therefore would need to provide a C.V/resume (obviously with a much more awesome name like Mercenary Profile!!!)
To elaborate, I believe that a DUST Corps overall statistics should be automatically recorded and available for the potential employees to see. If I was in a large alliance looking to employ DUST Mercs I would want to see the following:
1. Average Corp KDR - Can this Corp hold its own in a fight? I'm assuming it will be my money paying for the mercenaries gear and I would not want to pay out money if the Corp is dying more than its killing! 2. Attacking W/L ratio and Defending W/L ratio - Is this Corps strength attacking, defending or both? I might want a strong offensive Corp to harass my enemies but a more defensive Corp to protect my planetary assets. 3. Average War point total per match - Is this corp actually capturing objectives or are they simply going for kills?
I'm sure there's more that could be added, but that's the basic idea. Additionally a more condensed version of this could also be used by DUST corps when selecting individual mercenaries to recruit.
Sorry that was a long post, but I would like to see opinions/criticisms of this idea! |

I think some kind of "reviewing" tool for EVE players when they select Dust Mercs is a great idea. We already have the character sheet in Dust which I guess will somehow act as a CV/resume of sorts, but the real gem here is about planning this sheet so that it fills a EVE database that contains more relevant activities than just the leaderboard with KDR or War points.
[insert joke about reading books and going to the movies here]
Staying in line with the CV idea here:
a) Some kind of introductory statement that "sells" the Merc's capabilities b) Specialties c) Relevant "work" experience, i.e. player stats d) References from other EVE "employers" (maybe a kind of one liner comment / +1 everytime you finish a mission satisfyingly?) e) Awards and decorations f) etc.
This can go a long way in helping people distinguish themselves, even if they're not part of a corp or else. Fun idea.
