So i noticed during this last weekend when my brother upgraded to a prototype assault rifle, that my advanced rifle looked the exact same as his prototype. Im just wondering if there is some way you could make each weapon look different. reason because its one of the most primary things you see since it is a first person game :p |

I thnk this holds fairly true among all weapon classes and i aswell think that there should be some diffrence to them. This was also the case in eve till very recently but in eve the weopon is eyecandy here in a fps the looks of the weopon says weather its a full auto spray and pray or a closerange taticle machine of death and as such i hope they have 1 or 2 guys in there art department working on some new gun models to seperate each gun in a class a little more. Though i wouldnt expect this to after the game goes live as id prefer better map graphics and bug fixes of coarse more content befor the game goes live visual effects could come a little later |

The reason for this is that we are currently not seeing racial designs, at least not within each weapon group that is. Scrambler pistols are Amarr, SMG's are Minmitar, AR's are Gallente (I think?) and shotguns are Caldari (I think?). Just some examples. Eventually we will start to see racial designs within each weapon group, so the Amarr assault rifles will look different from the Gallente ones, and stuff like that. |

In current beta testing, we're only getting one race's version of each weapon type.
Others will have different appearance, and hopefully different stats. irrent races could become known for the specific variants - standard ARs would be made by one group, while another makes the Tactical variants, and a different race produces Breach ARs. |

Also when Dust releases there going to have racial varieties of EVERY ******* WEAPON!
The SMG is just the minmitar SMG, there will be racial varieties of all of these! Same with the assualt rifle. The assault rifle is gallente, they have already shown the caldari varient both as a physical model seen at fan fest and in early videos.
The scrambler pistol is just the amar varient.
If your concerned about weapon varieties dont worry, theres going to be a **** ton of stuff to pick through at launch date. |

I supose we are testing primarily th eengine and basic system functions.
Different weapon designs is Art, its not important untill we get close to release. What matter are stats, and before that, that the bullets get where they are suposed to get. |

People always point out the racial designs when this is brought up, but that is is no reason weapons of the same type have to look the same, its not like one race can only have one design of a particular type of weapon: -There is no reason why the same corporation of the same race can't make 2 guns of the same type with different visual designs. Helckler & Koch, a German gun maker made the G-36, and the HK-416 for example, both are assault rifles. -There is no reason a different competing corp from the same race can't make a gun of the same type with a different visual design. -There is no reason 2 different races can't have 2 different guns of the same type with different visual designs.
Having different models for different grades (standard, advanced, prototype), or for different variants (burst, breach) is completely possible. Nothing about the racial design restricts this, so this is not an excuse. There is something really annoying about unlocking a new grade of a gun, and seeing it look almost exactly the same. Usually in shooters a new gun model becomes a visual symbol of progression, its satisfying.
I don't expect it to change, but I hope it does. I hope that this will be different when the game releases, but I have no reason to believe that it will change as of right now. I really hope this is just because its a beta. |

well acutally i pretty sure every racial version of a weapon will have diffrent stats, Amarr weapons would probable have lowish CPU and higher PG, and be better against sheilds, Galenete will be average below average CPU/ above average PG and have a slighty lower signature streagth than tech savy caldari. caldarie weapons would have highish CPU and lowish PG and have a high signator streagth. Mimitar will be have average cpu/pg and be lowest sig streagth (you know cuase the ducktape, rust and pride that hold thier weapons together wont have much electronics)
galente and caldari stuff will probable be more supceptable to EMP weapons and will also have high electronics signatures Mimmitar and Amarr will probable have higher heat and energy signatures and be more easly counter. Galente and caldari stuff will be more verstile Amarr laser will be great vs Shield just not so great vs armor mimitar ammo will be great vs Armor just not so great vs shield Galente stuff will have great sensors and such to pick up on caldari hi signature stuff Caladari stuff will have great electronic coutner measure to counter galente drone tech mimitar stuff wont have any or few electronics devices to jam or take out with EM pulse Amarr stuff will have hi range but low and constant dmg |

Things that curvy are Gallente (they also like green), things that are angular are Caldari. The shotgun is Gallente.
I would love to have more visual variety. |

there needs to be 4 different gun designs for each faction weapon (basicly a caldari, minmatar gallente and amarr assault rifle, each with there factions scopes) scoped should be able to be put on any of that type of weapon. basicly if a player wishes to put a minmatar assaul rifle scope on his amarr assault rifle , the player should have that option. same for all weapons. |
