i have a strong feeling that, in nullsec, planets will turn into bullseyes for orbital bombardments. i think that, for those people who have put the time into capturing the entire planet should be able to build a network of high powered lasers on each district of the planet. let's just call these fragnets for now.
each of these lasers would inflict quite a bit of damage on ships in eve, but each of them could only be fired once every five minutes and be reserved for the larger ships. only one fragnet could be installed in each district on the planet, and they can be hacked by dusties.
the thing that would make these really powerful is that, once you own every district on a planet and have one installed in each, you can combine the power of the fragnets to make a super-high damage megalaser fire at an attacking capital ship.
each fragnet should cost like 10 billion isk to build (assuming there are more than 10 districts on a planet), and taking out any of them would disable the megalaser.
basically what i'm proposing is the ability to turn a planet into a titan. at least, i think that's what i'm doing. |

It's called the Skyfire Battery, can you can see it firing on the current Skirmish map if you look into the distance. |

EDIT: To put that in perspective, at least some of those weapons will be capable of one-shotting a Dreadnought, which means no less than 3 million damage. |

Ya cp has this covered uve probable havent seen it cause technically its not currently in the game since the game hasnt been connected to any eve ships.
Also 10 billion isk for ur arcnet umm i much rather cal a cta for both dust and eve corps u relize each sistem in eve can have anywhere between 3 and 10 planets. Null sec alliance own hundreds of systems my own owns the entirety of 2 regions half of anouther and sparce strategc systems throughout eve. To simplify it a bit i need my own dotland map just to see what systems are vulnerable to enemy takeovers. Now do the math on ur isk prices and its insane what id prefer is a cheaper weopon to buy that i can place millions around a planet that wouldnt impact my budget to drasticly to the point i cant fotify the other hundred planets that need it nvm the inner plannets that can be done slowly over time |

(no for the whole planet, just for a single turret.) i wanted the full arcnet to have enough power to oneshot a titan, and since those cost so much... well i have a feeling ppl in eve will do something goonswarmy when their ships get blown apart for getting too close to a planet too often. the idea is to reward players who've conquered entire planets with the option to fortify it so its harder to use. now that i think about it, it might be more practical for arcnets to be shields large enough to keep the whole planet safe from possible attackers. it would require a justifiable amount of minerals per hour to keep them running, and you'd have to bring in the minerals every day or week to keep the shield running. of course, if the planet has a whole lot of that mineral on it then it may cause overpoweredness... |
