So far I am pretty invested in the Heavy suit, but I am wondering what to invest my weapon skills in, anti-infantry or anti-vehicle. HMG or Forge Gun? |

both. both are heavy weapons so points in the heavy weapon upgrades stuff works for both. also if you go hmg your range sucks but can take out infantry relatively easily if you go forge gun vehicles dun like you and taking out mid range enemies in one shot is fairly easy. pick the one you like more for the moment skill it up then go for the other versatility is your friend

As a die hard Heavy you must work on your hmg first get the proto gun. Then work on your forge gun.
Their is always infantry to mow down, not always tanks to take out. It is hard to take out infantry with a forge gun, not impossible just so much time delay between shots usually someone else takes you out, so your primary weapon is an SMG when you are running with a forge gun. (Tip if you are shooting at infantry with a forge gun aim at there ankles.)
So By far work on your HMG first, work on the cool down skills, forget the sharpshooter skills it tightens your spray which is good for far away targets but not good enough to be useful, and by tightening your spray It effects your close up dominance.
Don't worry about your capacity with the hmg because your life expectancy is not long enough in the beginning to worry about using all your ammo.
Reload speed skill is not very effective, I would spend that SP on machine gun reload speed because in a battle you will be forced to swap to your sidearm because of overheat or reload so your smg is an important skill to level up fast.
Another tip since you are a large target and move slowly, running with your smg instead of your hmg in hand makes you run faster, and sorta baits the players coming at you. They think you are running with just an smog or assault rifle, and you switch to your hmg and start mowing em down . Still makes me laugh to do this. ( if you can get good with a pistol it is a real beast at close range, and it allows you to run quite fast) |

!!!WARNING!!! IF YOU USE THIS IN A MATCH WITH ME I WILL USE MY DROPSHIP TO TROLL YOU FOR THE ENTIRE MATCH.
The best loadouts for the heavy (strangely enough) aren't actually heavy weapons. the creedron breach ar makes hmgs look lke crap. 4-5 shots on scout, 5-7 on assault 15-20something on a heavy (you guys have too much health. just remember you're a walking bullseye!) shotguns to get people coming through choke points, snipers for holding a position because you'll survive like 4 shots with a really good heavy, the boundless breach smg because it's actually better than a regular ar (unbalanced much), and i believe the mass driver will make a lot of people want to find out where you live and kill you in real life (ULTIMATE NOOB TUBE, HERE WE GO! disclaimer: quite a bit of training is required to get ahold of a mass driver. those who use them are probably not noobs. thats just what i call grenade launchers). Don't forget your RE's! those are a must have on any dropsuit! |

I just wanted to add some tactics to consider as well.
A heavy is a force to be reckoned with in close quarters. Play biomass ambush and get inside the building and you will quite enjoy this as a heavy.
on the current skirmish map (A) is easier to hold because of less exposure from ranged infantry.
My current endeavour has been upgrading my LAV to take a pounding, since I move slow I use it to get me around the map. It's great everyone thinks its a militia LAV and start shooting at it I hop and mow them down with my proto hmg. I hop back in and find the next target all by himself and rinse and repeat. With my LaV leveled up in armor like a tank holding off fantry fire, still have to watch tanks and forgers though but your speed will get you out of most situations.
Now you are a one man wrecking crew anywhere on the map. Talk about soldier for hire! |
