This is just an honest bug report, not a complaint.
this past weekend, i was using my swarmer (standard, possibly even militia; can't remember which character this was on), and i'd locked onto a dropship that was descending. i believe it was already trashed, and falling out of the sky, but i was tracking it anyway to get a shot off just in case. the dropship passed behind some pipes and pillars, and i let off the fire button, but my target reticule never went away, even after i changed weapons. not a bad bug, but an annoying one. it did go away after i was killed, though. it's possible that looking at the overview map might have cleared this up, didn't get a chance to check, and i haven't been in a situation where i could repeat the conditions to see if i could get it to happen. i'll try again next weekend.
looked around and did searches for this kind of bug, didn't see anything. who knows, might have been a one time thing, not sure. anyway, there's my .02 ISK. if anyone can think of pertinent info that i might add to make this report better, pls let me know. |

The swarm bugs a lot. That way as well as not locking on at all. Just does not bring up the lock box. After a few tries it will. Glitch. |

This bug does happen alot with exactly what you said. If you are tracking a ds or tank just before it explodes, then the target square will stay on your screen. I can't remember if it goes away once you get a new lock on another ds or tank tho...
Then ofcourse there are times when you can't lock anything... the square never comes up. This one seems to happen more when you don't wait a few seconds after launching a swarm to get a new lock. Although having to wait a few seconds after a launch maybe a bug within itself. |

Sometimes when I've spawned at an Uplink, I've been unable to lock. Occasionally pressing the button fires automatically, no lock-box, just instant fire, but usually it won't let me lock OR fire until I've switched to another weapon and back.
The one you mentioned happens when you're close to acquiring lock when the target either leaves draw distance (and nobody else has eyes on) or when they're destroyed. I've had occasions where (only on installations), the lock icon doesn't appear properly, but the lock sound plays, and a flicker of what looks like a lock zooms into the top-right corner of the screen - the missiles still fire accurately enough though. |

You can pause the game to clear the extra SL reticles, if you are away from danger. Some other glitches I've noticed: not being able to fire after exiting a dropship (until you switch to another weapon and back), and not being able to lock onto structures (usually while defending). |

Didn't read anything of this but Ill let you know the bugs I've seen in it.
If you target the MCC or a structure thats just been blown up. It wont look like it is locking on but it does, the square pops up then drives to the upper left corner
Often times when attempting to lock just after switching to the swarm or firing or reloading the r1 button does nothing if you hold it down. There needs to be a visual que to show you when you can fire, and if you hold r1 before that that, it should begin firing when its ready. |
