I have been playing between a couple character builds, one with lvl 4 shotgun build, another with lvl 2 sniper prof build(the skill set after the first sniper build) and I find it easier to run around with a 2 shell shotgun, miss, reload, and finally get one shot and kill before getting killed myself, rather then sitting from afar and laying fire with a high powered rifle. does anyone have issues with sniping. it seems that everytime i go to lay someone out they lag like a mother and I miss my shot.
I understand this is a beta, and am wondering if they will be polishing off the scout system. |

Proto shotgunner here. So worth it to get the creodron version, but the allotek is best for heavies. |

Part of the problem with sniping is the draw distance, but there's also a major issue with a larger "deadzone" than normal on the controller, meaning you have MUCH less precision in your aim.
The combination of these factors and the lack of hitscan weaponry means that sniping is very idosyncratic in comparison with CQC, where the shotgun comes in.
My girlfriend is a good sniper, but has issues aiming in DUST sometimes because the deadzone prevents fine aim. Even in close, I notice that the deadzone issue affects me because of how I'm used to playing that aspect, which I'm good at in the games I've played other than DUST, but which I'm only decent at in DUST. |

I have a love/hate relationship with my Sniper Rifle.
Sometimes...shes far off single kiss of death...others, she fires blanks.
Im sure we will see some fixes thou. |

I have gotten reasonably decent with the sniper rifle. Much of the challenge is finding a spot that is close enough to somewhere useful to be inside draw distance, but hard to hunt down with a dropship. |
