in our discussions of the "current state of the beta" with our corp we brought up topics that needed to be addressed and that most of the newbies/core members/testers are similarly facing. it would be nice to get a little glimpse of "down the road" patches/builds/plans/hopes/achievements.
right now we all feel that the beta is stagnant, and that small group of ppl who are abusing current build mechanics are either scarring newbies/core members away with the same stale game feel.
we dont need a complete roadmap of events but a little more than "hey this is the day of....new important event" and the majority of us are blindsided.
current things that need to be addressed: how the game handles grouping and/if/or any of these nerfs/buffs are truly needed all curently/previously released maps in the upgraded build mode.. highly doubtfull those are bug free things we will be seeing in the next upcomming build and any hopefulls that you guys are hoping to cram in. other game modes that have been talked about and maybe some more info on them if they are not ready for the public. better communication with the community
theres probably more but these feel like the main topics that need to be hit up. currently those of us who cant be bothered to play it as much as we do other games and are eagarly anticipating the next build or grouping before we return.
if you guys are behind thats understandable, but keeping us more in the dark just hurts yourselves. |

I want grouping. That alone will add a whole new dynamic to the game that I feel is being underestimated. With grouping you will see more surgical gameplay and get a ton of much needed feedback.
When we can group up you will see a surge of activity I bet due to there not being the staleness of constant randoms. No offense to randoms but I would like to be teamed with some of my crew more often. Although Lurchasaurus (DId I spell that right?) and Bad Furry have made for some great random encounters. That match where an STB guy named Ted I think got teabagged and he steamrolled with a tank afterwards was rather good as well. PSN comms was a delight that match even though I was mostly focused on Teamspeak comms.
A more detailed list of what is upcoming would be nice as well. I don't have to know everything but I'd appreciate more precise communication. |

I agree with the OP's general point, although it's likely CCP wouldn't be able to implement such an approach until the next build is released.
It's also worth considering that grouping, while desirable and in demand from many, will make the beta even less welcoming for new players. Sure, if they stick at it and join a corp then they will have back up, but if your first battles are full of clued up and grouped up enemies the experience is going to be even worse than it is now. Ouch. (Of course the new player's team may also be well organised which may mitigate the issue). Worth thinking about. |

i just want grouping for now : ( and the real map back
beta hasn't been as fun since the very 1st map was taken away. I'm sick of the super testy maps. I feel like I'm being used to test, not like I'm playing the game. yeah I know that's the udea, but I'm really looking forward to the muli tier maps coming back :/ |

Fun is secondary at this point - however sometimes the lack of fun makes me want to rage quit... Get 5 or 6 people on comms though and the game is great fun, doesn't even matter if it's always on Plateaus. Grouping will be great when we finally get it. |

Play it like it's your job. Test things. Don't settle into anything that's fun for too long. The fun wll come later. Move on. |

I hope the OP understands that the Dev team may be keeping most of this close to their chest for a good reason.
Perhaps like the one you talked about the fact that you were discussing this in your Corp who I'm sure most of which will not be in this beta therefore it limits the amount of info you can leak out to the public (I just used it as an example, I of course have no idea how many of your corp mates don't have keys and are present for those discussions).
The less they reveal to us the more they safeguard the future of the game we are just here to test what they want us to test and not to see the future of the game plan they have laid out for us.
I do admit that it would be nice to see Corp groupings in games to insure that this doesn't foul up on release but we are not the ones making the schedule for this they are and they do not need to tell you what they are doing. |

theres a balance in info they can/cant release i wouldnt go as far as to say when orbital strikes are implimented, with AUR you could buy an installation that shoots pink missiles at the hovering spacecraft, we are nowhere near that point in the beta so by the time that phase would come around theres probably massive changes. theres things then can reveil even if its something as small as lil snippet of gameplay footage or screenshots showing those new changes. things like that are obtainable within the next build or the build after.
to the one saying grouping will be worse for new players i highly doubt it, if they have a mic and are chatting with other players usually you may buddy up or so with your newly met team mates. its similar to how COD players **** your inbox with invites even if they are not on your list of friends because you tout a higher leaderboard score or were a complete badass in that last game.
alot of the core mechanics (which is truely what we have) need to be tested with grouping before we come on here and cry for nerfs or buffs. or we will be playing a horribly unbalanced game closer to launch where devs will have to go back and undo all the things we cried for. |

Grouping will break the game but in a good way.
Without grouping any of the end game null-sec content will not be properly tested. The longer that (Grouping) is put off the more unstable that portion of the game could potentially become.
Also with all these weekend warrior passes CCP is throwing out I think it hurts CCP in the end. What they end up getting is a bunch of new players going up against prototype gear getting slaughtered in the process and not having a clue on how to handle that. It in all honesty is bad PR for CCP and Dust 514 as a whole. CCP should only do those weekend passes if they wipe the SP/ISK of their current build before that event starts. Otherwise you will end up with angry testers/players who may get misconstrued ideas on the game and then tell their friends those ideas thus causing a PR nightmare of a plague. |
