Even though it probably belongs in the feeback/request section,maybe it will get some traction here were more people will see it.
Make certain sections of the board locked to players,and have them unlock by how much total SP you gain.
For example,make it where when you first start your character,you can only post in the Tech Support section.After you earn at least,say,3 million SP,you are able to post in the Requests and Feedback section.After say about 5 million total SP earned,you are then able to post in the General Discussion sections.The amounts of SP are just an example,but it should be an amount that you have to put in some serious time to get to the General Discussion section.
Since our accounts on the board is directly linked to the gaming universe,I don't see how technically this would be that difficult to achieve.
The purpose of locking sections until people have enough SP is to cut down on the QQ'ing from those that play the game for only a couple of hours,then come to the forums and complain about how bad the game is,or that it sucks,without giving any constructive feedback to help improve the game.
Having the SP earned would at least make it where you would at least have to have a certain amount of experience with the game before you can even have an opportunity to troll.
Anyway,that's my idea. |

Off-Topic, but I think I remember you being my turret support gunner a bit ago in my Sagaris, fantastic work, best I've had.

While some of the people do just ***** and complain. Some people do come on and give constructive feedback. I do not support this idea.

Just need a 2 strikes policy. One is a warning, two you lose posting privileges permanently. This is a beta forum, we're here to test things so the game can improve, not to harvest likes or try to find an outlet for your Asperger syndrome. |

That's why I said that when you start out you have instant access to the Tech Support section.If there are issues,you can post them there.

no op, new players should be able to play 1 game and give feedback if they wish, as peope will decide if thay want to continue to play dust after 1 or 2 games at release anyway, so new player feedback and "first impressions" are very important feedback to ccp i should think. |

i kinda support it it would be a lot better if they had **** post blockers(please be a SoonTM) probably not comeing out till 2015
also +1 to crimson because i agree with that people need to stop complaining and give good feedback on issues or things that they should add |

There in lies the problem.PEOPLE NEVER STOP COMPLAINING...EVER!
This is a way that if you only play one or two games,the only place you have to complain is in the tech threads,and if I were running the show,those complains had better be tech related or threads would get deleted and posting privileges would get revoked for trolling.
Only when you put enough time into actually playing the game,and getting to know what the hell is going on,then you have the right to complain in General Discussion.
Sometimes the overseers need to actually take away some of the freedoms to prevent the inmates from taking over the asylum,and since we can't seem to police ourselves,let's have a system in place that automatically polices for us.

People would just spam the forum they can join. The are many posts that are in the wrong sections with the ability to access the correct areas already. Good idea tho in principle.
What would be good is to have a mini data sheet in the left hand box. It could tell us the testers information / stats like a signature. This would allow apoint of view to be substantiated. Ie this game is too hard ( 5mins game play) ect. |

I think this is a sound idea,but I'm not sure that it would stop the trolls.Part of the problem also is us.If we see and read stupid posts like the ones the Knight Of Valor has been posting(which appears they have all been deleted by the mods),we should have enough self control to not respond to them.
Unfortunately,there's always someone that's looking to stir the pot,and they will respond,and the cycle continues.

I totally understand what you are saying,but in situations like that,I feel like that's what the chat system in the actual game is for(which still needs some improving).Not that the forums aren't,but it will keep those useless threads at bay for a while,and down to a minimum.
BTW,this is a reason why I hate this board.I want to respond to two posts and there isn't even a multi post reply function,hence a double post.
What a waste of space when there doesn't need to be. |
