Hi guys! I'm a hardcore eve player, and I bought the ps3 specifically for this game, now i'm not very good with the dualshock 3 and i don't have the best "gun game" .73 kdr on COD but a 2.3 on battlefield as mainly a tank driver.
what is the best loadout for me considering i'm not very good at tracking targets with the ds3 and would like to have a decent KDR?

I say start using the milita fits, find what movement style you like best and what they do, order in some vehicles get used to those.
From there you can then start fomulating a skill path on how to build yourself up against the threats you face, I was sorta forced going into antivehicular role from all the sagaris and surya, then again I like playing Cabela's Dangerous Hunt, New Edend edition.
Just like eve browse the markets and skill section see what is available and what you like or dont possibly like.
Payout is low to keep an entire game of protos going so learn to budget your battles based on income/loss like an eve online battle is determined on losses.
Other than that most of it should be familiar.
The most 'versitile' (not the best but capable) would be assault suits, the assualt breach variatns its a favorite, though I am beginning to see more bursts and assault vanillias now. Assaults have a decnt mix of tank gank and mobility and flexible fittings to counter a large number of threats. |

Just be a gunner for a tank. Get lots of kills, lots of SP, then put that SP into something else. Or just use it to build a super tank and get more kills, more SP. |

I'm not very good at fps's on pc with kb/m.
I got a lot of time on my hands, like most EVE players. I just want to play casually and not have to try to hard and still do well, I'm leaning towards a tanks because of the splash damage |

As an EvE player you can look through the skills, and market, get a few mil SP, and roll about in a well fitted HAV. The badly fit ones rolling about stand no chance (Large railgun, 2*small missiles, you can get militia tanks to practise with).
If you want to go infantry use type2 whatever suit and shield tank.

Well tanks wont be all that reliable when the full game comes out unless you have the upmost strongest shields because just about all the vehicle prices will go up a great deal |

I think it will make me better but lets be honest, I cant get any worse
Like I said, with the ds3 I can hold down r1 and point in a general direction pretty good, and I heard all protoype vehicles are very good, what should I use besides that?
I'm thinking heavy with a mass driver and a prototype tank, is that good for someone like me? someone with minimal fps skill? |

Better you go logistic tank/Dropship. With your EvE char you can shower tanks upon your Dust char. Use AR or SMG so you get better. |

hover dropship above spawnpoint and hold R1 down imagine the red Vs are red crosses you'll know what to do

There's no "best loadout" or even "best loadout for a new person" in DUST.
Try running Heavy. Try running Assault. Try running Scout. Try running Logi. ANd ride in a few tanks/Dropships and see how you handle yourself as a gunner.
If you can get away with it (ONLY when your team is winning horribly, otherwise you'll die too fast), grab one of your default tanks, LAVs or Dropships and play around with it to learn the controls.
See what you feel most comfortable with, and do that. |

it's just practice with the ds3 you need , i would aim to get a prototype weapon asap and skills that help that weapon , as for playing try to stay near other team members . you should have seen my friend trying to play a pc shooter, was funny he always had to look at the keyboard to walk and change weapon , ...so yeah it's just practice :) |
