Dust will be faster paced than EVE such as all FPS oriented games are, while maintaining the same large scale corp based teamwork gameplay. Anyone from BF3 or COD who thinks they will be successful by maintaining their solo run-n-gun game style while flaunting their skillz will probably rage quit sooner or later.
just because you have a good aim doesnt mean you will necessarily win...the game operates on a much larger scale than individual skills. for example, you redline the enemy thinking your tough ****, then **** theres 5 tanks up in flames from an orbital strike.
People on the forums are thinking like, "My skills should trump numbers." and "This is OP cause even as an AV i can take out this by myself."
Well, tough cookies. The EVE universe doesnt operate on a micro level....corporations win fights...some guy who tops the leaderboards, while nice to have on your team, is relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Obviously there will be some who dont agree and say it should be the other way around, but fortunately, it wont be, so deal with it i guess. People who have played EVE and know CCP will probably agree?
also, this is for the main corp battle stuff. there will be pve and high sec for those who want to just run n gun outside of the "main experience and purpose" of the game |

Arena will make some people happy for classic FPS play where you just jump in and numbers don't matter as it is "even," where as the turf wars will make the people who only want to play "important" battles that effect the universe happy, and then there are those who I suspect will only fight the NPC drones because some people think that is really cool.
Pretty clever of CCP to cater to all audiences without people peeing in other people's pool, right? |
